Last two Trips in 2022

We have been having great winter weather. I took off a couple of hours on Friday and fished with Livie from 3:30 to sunset. With only a little window, we fished the sunfish honey hole that Sue and I fished earlier in the year.

Though it was colder water and the bites were slower, we still had a great day of just fishing. Mostly caught bluegill and a couple of pumpkinseed, hybrid pumpkinseeds, and green sunfish.

 

 

 

We both ended the day at 26 fish each. Livie won the day by catching the only black crappie of the trip!😁

After we got home, it was apparent that we could achieve some year totals if we tried again on the last day of the year. We tried to fish the upper reaches of Tuckahoe Creek near the spillway in hopes of catching some yellow perch or fallfish. We both just caught one bluegill each. With rain in the forecast, we ran back to the honey hole. The sunfish were just as active. We agreed that when we both caught our target number of fish that we would leave. I needed 21 fish total to reach 900 fish for 2022 and Livie needed 23 to reach 375 fish.

 

Though she was getting grumpy for missing strikes, she did land her 375th fish of 2022 😁

We spent less than two hours fishing and both met or exceeded our number goals. I ended the year at 910 fish and felt like I had a tough but ultimately a successful year!

It was low hanging fruit, I had to take a shot.

Congrats to you both!  I'm jonesing to get out... got allot on my plate though,  and hunting priorities right now lol

Congratulations on meeting your goals.  I like her hair colors.  I did that when I was younger.  No regrets.   Hair grows back.  Even got my tongue pierced before it was mainstream.
