mic Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Anyone fish white woolly buggers for trout? Do you follow the rule of bright day, white fly? I have a pattern out of a book. It is a standard white woolly, but it has an ostrich herl back like a crackleback. I tied one up. Looks fishy. I'm new to the streamer game so a bunch of new guys questions. I'm starting to have better then average luck.
FishnDave Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Yep. White sometimes works great. Sometimes less so. If one color stops producing, changing colors cans often flip the switch back on. I've alternated with white, black, chili pepper (copper-ish), olive, gold, and silver. Some days every color will work at some point. Let me know if you ever find a hard-and-fast rule in fishing. 😄 Johnsfolly, nomolites and Daryk Campbell Sr 3

netboy Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Only Woolies I use are olive or brown. I use white mop flies if there is a shad kill happening. FishnDave 1
fishinwrench Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Crappie love a white grizzly WB. No bead, and darn few lead wraps. You want it to sink slooooow. Boringly slow. FishnDave 1
