Redfish?

Planning a trip to Louisiana.  Can someone name a town where I can do ok Redfishing away from New Orleans?

And what should I pay for headless Shrimp?

Venice is a start.  Don't know about headless shrimp, but you can buy (or could three years ago) shrimp for $10 a pound.

Having a hard time finding Shrimp at reasonable price. 

How about any place West of there?

Oh this is going to be good they are planning on going to Oklahoma then to Hot Springs then on down.

I’ve never fished Louisiana. But in Alabama and Florida I get the kids to catch blue crabs and ghost crabs for bait and I throw the cast net for mullet.

 

The crabs (cut the big ones up) catch black drum as well and I seem to catch more reds with the mullet. 8 inches is ideal size…

Dang woman being good.  Fishing every place she has.

Found us a House Boat on the Gulf. 

Going down she found a place on the water in Oklahoma.  Then way back there is a place on the water at Hot Springs.

We go about every year to fish with Capt Rok at Venice Guide Service.  He will put you on some nice Redfish and Sheepshead.  Have also fished with Big Dog Guide Service in Barataria, just south of N.O.  He is a good guy also.

I know sounds crazy but I can't keep my balance so I'm wanting to go so we decided best try from the bank. 

Had a trip and booked fishing in Destin but had Arthritis put me down.

You will have to pay a premium for headless shrimp.  everywhere sells them with heads on.  If you want to fish from the bank I suggest fishing for speckled trout in grand isle.

I'm thinking this will work the House Boat is basically on the gulf so get some bait and fish. 

I'm thinking this trip is for more than just Redfish I'm thinking it is more whatever pulls my Line.

Turns out a Voodoo shrimp under a popping cork can catch a bunch of speckled trout before they tear it up once I locate locate the fish..
