Hawg Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 5wt. Full sinking line 7ips. The final one took an hour to catch but I wasn’t goin home without that round number haha. Missed eight. Not one rainbow. Caught one big ol shiner as well. They smacked it like a bass. No fish pics, kept the phone in a bag as it’s on its last leg. Wasn’t gone risk finishing it off unless I had a trophy 😁 trouty mouth, ness, Daryk Campbell Sr and 7 others 10
Members trouty mouth Posted March 1, 2023 Members Posted March 1, 2023 Looks like a good one. Can you give a breakdown on your materials? It looks like it could be quick to tie too. nomolites and tjm 2

Members T.J. Clarke Posted March 1, 2023 Members Posted March 1, 2023 Good job, did you hit the area right after stocking? Understand no pics. I do not have a smartphone, and by the time my digital camera came out the fish could be too weak. trythisonemv 1

jdmidwest Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Why would a meat eating fish need to have a crayfish? Good looking fly. I know they eat them all of the time, but there are only a few times when there is a hatch of them seems like. Then they turn off and start eating some little size 14 sow bug or a gnat to fill up their guts. Trout are a funny fish. trythisonemv 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

When your a predatory fish in a river, anything that moves is considered FOOD until it is proved otherwise. If there's a pretzel between me and a steak..... I'm likely to eat both. 🙂 Hawg, Gavin, trythisonemv and 1 other 2 2
fshndoug Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 definitely get rid of that pretzel . fishinwrench 1
tjm Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Good fly, does it have a pattern name? or are you up for a tutorial? shucks, even a materials list .... never mind; after I think about 30 fish is a lot of work. trythisonemv 1
