Shooting a Shotgun?

Is there anyone on here that shoots a Shotgun with just their Right Arm?

I do pretty good with  .22 long as I don't have to wait too long for a Squirrel to stick its head out. 

I have a 12ga. Pump. Everyone is afraid it will be too heavy, that isn't my problem.

Then what is your problem?

The problem is racking the pump.

The recoil will be much more than you expect, the trigger guard may bruise your fingers and your wrist  will hurt. If you are shooting one handed the butt being  clamped into your armpit/rib-cage, for support and control, will make it hard to hold on an elevated target or to track a target. Don't use magnum shells.

Since the last surgery, I have used a 20 GA for lighter recoil.  Put away my 30.06 bolt rifle and went to all gas AR rifles.  They tweaked a nerve in surgery that runs across me right shoulder making me recoil sensitive.  12 GA is only for home defense, not prolonged shooting.

You may need a shooting stick to compensate for the left arm.  You will need something to hold up the front while you shoulder it.  Never been a fan of one handed shotguns.  Even my AR pistols have a forearm brace to support them when I shoot them.  Now the ATF wants to make them illegal.

So your left arm has zero function, or limited use?

A 20 gauge with light shells would be a more delicate approach.

You guys are assuming the problem is the left arm.  With oneshot normal assumptions rarely work.

Shooting any Shotgun one handed is a bad idea.  If you can somehow get it up to your shoulder trying to accurately shoot it is gonna be tough.  I went through a shoulder replacement and swapped to a 20 gauge but still feel the kick against the metal parts.  Type of Shotgun would also make a difference, soft shooting gas operated is better.

I can shoot a  .22 just fine 4 out of 6 Head Shots on Squirrels. 

I was going to borrow a  .410 but was told it was too heavy. 

With my left Arm the way it is I can  only raise it a little over Waist high. 

With my  .22 I can hold it up long enough to aim and fire just if I have to hold it up is the  problem. 

I'm thinking with a Scatter Gun I won't have to be so precise. 

Plus I might want to go after Rabbits and Quail. 

Figure if I'm Deer hunting I can use a Tripod deal to hold my Weapon up. My other problem is finding someone early in the morning to drive me plus maybe getting me into the woods. 

I have Pistols but they are too big.
