fishinwrench Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Looks like you used Cactus chenille/Eztaz for the head. You really need that head to be dense in order for the fly to "dance". The whole "push water" thing. This stuff here does the trick 👍 trythisonemv and Daryk Campbell Sr 1 1

fishinwrench Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Well tied, looks clean. 👍 That whole Pointy Nose thing you've got going on with your streamers might cast better.....but won't fish better These aren't technically "Murdich", but they are examples of what the head of the fly should be like. Please don't take my criticism the wrong way, just trying to offer up some solid tips..... assuming that you actually plan to fish those rascals. ✌️ Think of the hydraulics of it. As the fly is pulled through the water, that fat dense head pushes water out of the way.....And during pauses that water collapses behind the head, causing the rear of the fly to come to life. 👍 Pointy nose flys really only have lifelike action when being swung across a current. trythisonemv and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

My assumption was that the thicker material directly behind the head would animate the rear end enough ... I will try a Brushy head as well... thanks sir appreciate the feedback . I want to catch fish! Daryk Campbell Sr 1
