Lots of people at least pretend like they don't know the rules for the Buffalo, and take jetboats up it from the White fairly often.

There is a Very Large and very easy to read sign at the confluence. Ignorance of the law is not an effective legal excuse and in this case a very flimsy argument. If you run Bass boats on the White and Buffalo for any length of time, I assume rocks are going to educate you to the folly of your actions. grizwilson, Quillback and snagged in outlet 3 2 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. A couple years ago we floated the lower section in our kayaks and about 1/2 mile upstream from the White we had two bass boats with 250 HP Mercs come by use at full speed. Glad we were close to the right bank fishing the edge and weren't affected by their wake. We hoped the didn't know about the shallow rocks another mile upstream. There must have been floodgates open for them to get bass boats in there. Ham and snagged in outlet 3 2 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
gotmuddy Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I have taken a riverboat from Rush down, it was a great float. grizwilson, snagged in outlet 3 and Daryk Campbell Sr 3 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

We stay very close (wading distance) to the confluence of Buffalo and White River for jigfest. I would like to catch a ddecent fighter, so far the ones I've caught have not given the tugs or fights that I have read about. I haven't caught any of size also. Man, once you hook a 15 or 16 incher you won't forget it. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

If there is some water flow I can take you up from the bottom side via boat, or you can do one of the many floats in a canoe/kayak. Yeah, I definitely think the Buffalo River is a quantity over quality river but I know there are some dinos hiding in it.

I would also like to get on some more waters this year. Last year I fished mostly the Sac and Pomme Rivers but also did a float on the Gasconade. I would like to either float a different part of the Gasconade or float the Current. The Gasconade has some bigguns. My old roommate caught an toad Smallmouth out of it a few years back. I think the Current can be good but tough. Alot of pressure, and otters probably has the fish very spooky. But I've seen some big fish on floats. The Pomme River intrigues me.

But the fish you are seeking are very close and all around you. Out of all the ones you have mentioned I only feel that the Gasconade offers a real advantage over the streams in your backyard. But you have to do the Buffalo. Go with quantity over quality and you won't be disappointed. It's a beautiful place. MObassin95 1
