Johnsfolly Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Love hearing about goal setting and their completion. Pretty cool accomplishment for such a young girl. https://www.bangordailynews.com/2024/09/04/outdoors/fishing/young-girl-reaches-goal-many-experienced-fishermen-have-not-joam40zk0w/ nomolites, BilletHead, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 4
netboy Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Those ribbonfish used to make great trolling baits for kingfish off the Texas coast. The bigger, the better. We rigged them with a 2-hook rig and slow trolled. Many times, the kings would come up under them and clear the water by 10 feet on the strike. It was pretty exciting. I have seen lots of articles about using and rigging ribbonfish for king mackerel. Would like to try it some time.

Johnsfolly Posted October 13 Posted October 13 #17 Lifer for 2024 - Oriental Weatherfish. Thought that this would fall under a swamp species but caught it in a clear stream in the middle of town in NJ. #18 Lifer - Banded Sunfish. This one is a swamp fish species. Caught in the Pinelands of NJ. Still plugging away at my 2024 goals😉😁. Did fish for skipjacks but no luck. Not sure if I will have another chance at them this year. Still might get a sauger in WV if I can get out there before year's end. snagged in outlet 3, nomolites, Ham and 4 others 7
Johnsfolly Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Last week I caught and met my total lifer goal of 19 lifers for 2024 with this brook stickleback that I caught in Colorado. I still have some time to get a few more species by the end of the year. snagged in outlet 3, FishnDave, Quillback and 1 other 4
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Great job! Johnsfolly 1 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. (me) I am the master of my unspoken words, and the slave to those that should have remained unsaid. (unknown)
