bfishn Posted January 7 Posted January 7 You all-species guys are missing out IMO. You keep catching this awesome bait, but never use it for the greater challenge... catch a 50+lb fish on a bait you just caught. I've done that, twice. Feels really good when it happens. Ham, Quillback, BilletHead and 1 other 4 I can't dance like I used to.

You assume too much. I keep a few Skipjack for cutbait. I haven’t created piscatorial alchemy to the tune of 50 lbs, yet. We have caught bowfin, channel cats, and blues. bfishn 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Talk about fun on the long stick. It's a hoot #remembertotakeabiggernet. It has been at least a dozen years since I fished for them, but I'd go over in late September/early October. I'd net some shad for bait, and then slowly drag either a whole shad, or a chunk on the bottom. Limit was 10, and If things were right, I would limit. 2-3 lb. blues with a channel cat every now and then. Depth finder would show them on the bottom almost continuously. Only negative was the rec boats after about 9 AM. Even in October there is a bunch of them. BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2
