fishinwrench Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Tungsten powder is heavier than steel bearings, and more readily available to fishermen. Probably wouldn't even show up via x-ray. How can any weight be trusted now ? 🤔 Quillback 1

snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I had my doubts when the story started with "A Kansas Angler".....😂

tjm Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Surprising that they certified it prior to investigating it, seems like investigation would be a part of the certification. The cheater should have destroyed the evidence given that much time if he wanted the record so bad. "It fried up real good" and he would still have that record. As to "can any weight be trusted now" question, how do we know that 1964 fish wasn't just as full of lead? Any time there is a contest, there will likely be cheater. Rumor has it that the guy has "lawyered up" and is still quite upset that they took the record down. There's more to that story that isn't being publicized.
