If somebody PUBLICLY accused me of shoving ball bearings down the throat of a fish.......You can bet I'd call out a favor from one of my lawyer friends.    In a heartbeat I would.  👍

You are assuming that guy has lawyer friends that will work for free.  I doubt that he does.

I'd never expect mine to work for free, but I know darn well I'd get that retainer back.....PLUS be setup to retire.

You have to remember this guy ain't you.  I'm sure you would not stuff a fish with lead, but who knows about that guy?  I guess we'll have to see what happens, if in fact he did not do the stuffing, I hope he gets his reputation cleared.  That's about all he can hope for, I don't see any chance of this fish being declared a state record.

He is a felon, it's probable  that he has a lawyer on retainer.

Bottom line:    As far as we know NOW they confiscated the fish from the man....THEN discovered ball bearings in the fish. 

With no evidence of the accused putting them there.  

He has a case.    No doubt about it, unless there are unmentioned details.

It appears that they handled it all wrong.  

But yeah, fish weight records as a whole are ignorant, and pointless.   

I've been part of 2 definite records, but the thought of submitting either OFFICIALLY was not even a consideration.
