snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Can anyone remember the lakes and rivers being this low at the end of March? I sure don't. dpitt 1
Quillback Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Might be some big rain coming Sunday into Monday. When I see it, I'll believe it. snagged in outlet 3 1

I went to a place yesterday that I haven't seen this low since high school. That was a long time ago. Usually this time of year I'm trying to find a stream I want to fish that isn't blown out. Now I can wade across any of them. We haven't had much rain around here. snagged in outlet 3 1

I haven't fished the Meramec in ages. And the Gasconade looks about normal, no? Every spring there's a bunch of people that say "OMG I haven't EVER seen the lake this low".....but they obviously have very short memories.

A quick scan of my notes and they were both significantly higher than today. 2-4 times higher generally. grizwilson and fishinwrench 2
tjm Posted March 21 Posted March 21 As near as i can recall every single year in the past 70+ has been at once the wettest & driest, as well as the coldest and hottest, I don't think we have had a "normal" weather year in my lifetime. But, doesn't some authority maintain records of past lake levels? accumulated precipitation from past years? snagged in outlet 3 1
fishinwrench Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I know one thing......or at least I think I know it.....This is the first year in my memory of the daffodils, and this pretty bush in my yard (whatever it is) ever going into full-bloom during the month of March. Lilac and Dogwoods haven't even started though. Kinda odd, isn't it? And all the oaks in my area are still holding on to 1/2 of last year's leaves. snagged in outlet 3 1
Gavin Posted March 21 Posted March 21 It is abnormally warm and dry this winter. We are in a mild drought pattern and it seems like spring is starting a week or two early. Thanks El Nino! snagged in outlet 3 1
