Terrierman Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Just kidding wrench, I know how much you love one. fishinwrench and BilletHead 2
fishinwrench Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I'm sure that I am getting blamed for the other thread being shut down......but I refuse to accept the blame for that. Just for the record! 😉 I highly recommend a colonoscopy for those that truly ARE to blame though. 👍😅
BilletHead Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Had two, not too bad except for coming out of the stuff that they put you out with. Pat says I love the nurses then and she and the girls just have a good time laughing at me. So now the rest of you can laugh at my expense. Now I just poop in the box and send it through the USPS. Now laugh some more. The box works. Caught a friend's cancer ahead (can we all say preventive medicine)? Of time preventing worse damage. bfishn 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" tjm Posted April 16 Posted April 16 go lyghtly with such talk The box, according to the quacks specialists that I've talked to, just lets them know that you need the scope done right now, or that they can wait a while. They strongly suggested just do the thing and get it over with. I'm on a three year rota with three behind me and one due soon. I wasn't drunk as long after the procedure with the last go round as I was with the first, used a different type of anesthesia, that first time they did both ends and I was giddy for several hours afterwards.
Quillback Posted April 16 Posted April 16 The first one I had, 10 years ago, I wasn't completely out. Didn't feel anything, but had the most vivid dream I have ever had. I was flying through outer space in a recliner, very colorful fireworks going off as I was flying, stars and planets whizzing by, it was literally a trip. Next time I had one, I mentioned to the anesthesiologist the dream I had and he told me, that won't happen this time. He's right, that's the last thing I remembered until I woke up. BilletHead 1

After having negative results on the invasive colonoscopes and no family problems with colon problems it's a good test in my circumstance. Not for everyone. It has a very high percentage rate of catching a problem. It first insurance did not want to cover the test but would the more expensive test. Now they will pay for it and cover an invasive colonoscopes if test comes back abnormal. Most of all the option of the box is getting people who would not get a traditional rectum hole colon peek inside Any way you look at it saving a life is a good thing. I did not mind the invasive colonoscopy at all but do not like the prep. As far as the prep goes did not mind the part cleaning out my bowls but drinking that gallon of slick slime is the pits. tjm and Quillback 2 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" ness Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I had one last year, and as l was waking up I was exaggerating to my wife the size of the instrument they had inserted. As I regained further consciousness I realized it wasn’t my wife I was talking to, it was a nurse. I tried to explain and she laughed and said she’s heard a lot of stuff from folks coming out of anesthesia. So here’s my advice: 1. Get your colonoscopy when advised. 2. Don’t try to be too funny until you’re fully conscious. Nick Adams, kjackson, Terrierman and 2 others 5 John
tjm Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Yes the box does get some people to test that would not do the scope, and that is good. Anything that catches the problem prior to needing the surgery that ends with a bag. Colostomy? In my case there is a family history that prompted my first check and that found a couple of benign polyps and resulted in a tattoo and a return visit and periodic repeats since. My last go round ('21) and the one my wife did last month, required a much smaller drink and a shorter prep time than previously. Didn't taste as awful either. 8 minutes ago, ness said: Don’t try to be too funny until you’re fully conscious. I'm not sure how to determine that. Best wait til the next day, I guess. BilletHead 1
