At our new place we have been having a gang of squirrels just harrassing our chickens. They even have dug under the coop and get in to eat the chicken feed. When they do that the chickens either ignore them or chase them down pecking at them relentlessly. We haven't figured out what will trigger the birds to attack. Most of the time the huddle together away from the squirrels. Egg numbers have dropped 😒. I need an air rifleman to come and take out a few of these fat neighborhood squirrels 😉

I have gotten to where I hate squirrels. They dig in the garden, steal tomatoes, chew on the deck and our deck furniture, fence posts, grill handles and pots. We gave up seed feeders.

A neighbor took this pic of Bob the Cat climbing the fence into our yard the other day. Maybe he'll take out a few!

We regularly see hawks, yotes and fox in our yard.  Particularly on my camera system.  But the rabbits and squirrels keep multiplying and feed openly in the yard.  We have baby squirrels and rabbits right now.  One year the rabbits got so bad we got the air rifle out.   I had rabbit doo all over in my garage and I couldn't figure out where he was.  Moved the lawn mower and they were under there.  It was rabbit carnage that day my friend...😂

I try to get the squirrels before the bobcat do. It shows behind the house along the timber in early morning and evening. Think she is feeding her kittens. At night she is prowling the yard. We have had a good bunny hatch and she after those too.

I've never caught a bobcat on camera but I'd like too.  I had an armadillo on camera about a month ago.  Just passing through I guess.  I want to be the first in our area to get a black bear on camera.  I live about a mile up the hill from the MO River bottoms so there's a chance...

Anybody got a recommendation on a decent trail cam? I've toyed with the idea but haven't even researched it to know about features, etc. to go for, so any advice would help. I don't need state of the art. I would like it to sync to phone rather than jack with cards. And In Living Color would be nice. Could I get that done for <$250?

Yes, easily if you are looking for a cell cam. Then a subscription monthly. Pretty reasonable depending on how many pictures you want. Some guys just disconnect with the service part of the months they don't want pictures. I like double use as a security cam.

Have also thought about something along this line,

Amazon.com : 4G LTE Cellular Security Camera Outdoor - 3MP No WiFi Solar Security Camera Wireless Outdoor, 360° Full Cover with Solar Panel, Wireless Security Camera, HD 2K+ Color Night Vision, Smart AI Detection : Electronics

Don't know what subscription would be. Betting cheaper than hunting cell cam. One thing though @ness  you and Kathy might want to be careful getting frisky in the back yard :).

I got a Blink system when then they first came out and I’m grandfathered in for free cloud storage. I have 6 cameras now.

@nessshould look into Blink on Amazon.  They run sales all the time.  I think you can forego the monthly charge and just have storage of the videos on your phone.  Right now get 2 wireless cameras for $119.00.
