ness
Service to others is a good thing, and your granddaughter is to be commended. It takes a good heart, commitment and effort to serve. More than most are willing to do. tjm, ColdWaterFshr, Mitch f and 1 other 4 John
ColdWaterFshr
As a self-serving SOB, I commend her. Far more than I would do or ever have done. But I get lost in the explanation that this is the "lord's work". Can't people just do something nice for another human being and not have to say they're doing it for someone else, especially when this someone else is omnipotent? Rationalization #37 of why I'm a failed christian.

Humans arent nice by nature no matter how they try to deny it. tjm 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Have you actually READ that book, or have you just listened to the little snippets that preachers quote ? There are some pretty horrific tales in there !!! And turning those tales into anything "nice, kind, or caring" takes some serious mental gymnastics! 🤔 So I respectfully ask you the same question......Where did the idea of doing something "nice" originate from ? 🤔
