I think it’s unbridled disdain rather than indifference. With a liberal sprinkling of cowardice on top. Terrierman and Johnsfolly 1 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. FishnDave
You may be right. Just a year ago, I had no plan to microfish. Look at me grow! I've caught at least a dozen new-to-me species on micro-flies this year! Occasionally neighbors walking by, as I'm unloading my fishing gear after a trip, will ask me if I caught anything. "Yes! Little minnows!" They never talk to me again. 😏 Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr, nomolites and 1 other 1

"Yes! Little minnows!" My favorite is when someone sees you on the creek or river either hunched over trying to spot darters or with a fish in a bag trying to get photos and then you try to explain to them about lifelisting. "So you just get a picture and then let them go?!?" We do get a lot of angry stares on these party boats when we get excited about getting photos of a new searobin or dogfish while no one is catching any meat fish😏 Ham, Daryk Campbell Sr and FishnDave 1
Johnsfolly
@FishnDave Now Rick @Terrierman is going to say that yet another thread was hijacked by those microfishermen, but honestly Ham started it😉 Daryk Campbell Sr, Ham and Terrierman 1 1

I thought I was alone fishing a creek... heard voices, but assumed it was folks on the adjacent trail... when 2 angles came around the corner with spinning gear as I was trying to photograph the Logperch I'd just caught...in the photo bag. We talked for awhile... they were nice, understood the gist of what I was doing (after I explained it). They went on by me and continued fishing their way down the creek... kindly passing up the next good-looking pool for my benefit. I'm glad I took some pics of the logperch out of the bag too... as the ones in the bag didn't turn out very good. That was opposite for the Orangethroat Darter... decent pics in the bag, bad ones out of it. Ham, Johnsfolly and Daryk Campbell Sr

I find that the best photos of darters tend to be when they are in water and can extend those fins. Lots of lifelister folks are holding the fish in the water while getting their photos. I would be afraid of missing that lifer photo by trying that approach. May have to practice since night photos in the bag aren't the greatest. Daryk Campbell Sr
I've bought one of these. It helps get the pictures. They show out of stock, but they get new stock often. This is the site I bought from. https://anglersemporium.com/collections/microfishing-tools/products/ogk-micro-fishing-photo-tank-with-net I also use a container that had Naan Dippers bread. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stonefire-Original-Naan-Dippers-7-05-oz-20-Count/445089340?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=69&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=22222222278445089340_161193766053_21214199653&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=697173827980&wl4=pla-2300760861495&wl5=9022818&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=445089340&veh=sem_LIA&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiOy1BhDCARIsADGvQnAA-dVDO4VetX6DFTwhCYOHffc-d5N29V5p3x82hwkFBxzsNcANQ2oaAsZqEALw_wcB Johnsfolly, FishnDave and Terrierman 2 1 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
