Hot & Humid today.  Worked out in it from 8:30 until 4:30 and didn't see a single fly, gnat, skeeter, spider, wasp or mud dauber.    No invisible parasites chewing on my ankles and calves.   The only insect I remember all day was a casual flyby from a friendly bumble bee. 👍

I love this.   It's like living in paradise!

I was wondering  about grasshoppers. When I was a kid they were everywhere. Catch them for fishing. Maybe I'm not looking but they're sure not where I am. Also we use to have bunches of English  sparrows.  Barn yards would be full of them. Not anymore that I know of.  Maybe I'm just not in the right spot. Thank goodness we still have plenty of gnats if you fish at night. At least that's someting....I guess.

Haven't seen a hopper around here either....which is mildly depressing actually 🤔

Drove 12 miles north to a little burger joint after work, sat outside, ate dinner and had Ice cream......No flys, gnats, or bugs of any kind.   This just really feels unnatural.....but I'm definitely enjoying it.  😊

Plenty of hoppers here at Tablerock.   Little ones all over the boat yard and a big one out front I keep saying hi to everyday.

Yeah it's Hopper Time !

All insects around here appear to be on break, for some weird reason.

That’s weird.  Back at home the mosquitoes were so bad you couldn’t be in the garage with the door open for 5 minutes or they would be all over you.   But that’s normal every year.  My wife’s flower gardens are breeding grounds with the sprinklers running every couple days.

It's VERY odd.

I have some intense lighting in & around my shop that usually draws in bugs from the next county😎.   Not now though. It's lit up like a runway.....and there isn't a bug, fly, or even so much as a gnat anywhere around here.

There's something going on 🤔

Had a pet Praying Mantis on the Hummingbird feeder one summer.  I would feed him tomato worms and grasshoppers.  Fun to watch him pounce on them.

Horseflies are running rampant around here.  Driving around they are pecking the windows.  On the tractor this evening, they were all around it but not bothering me.  Pecker Knats have been a pest in the back yard this summer  in the garden.  Had one up my nose today.
