Members Jighog Posted August 19 Members Posted August 19 Had the weekend off, so me and the fam decided to head up to Mountain Home for some river time. The Norfork was too high, but the White was perfect in the mornings. Man, you guys are so lucky and blessed to have those rivers. I caught a lot of fish, and we had a great time. I caught a nice brown and 2 pretty little cutthroats which was super cool. Those were my first cutts ever. I even caught a little smallmouth which was a surprise. I caught all of these on marabou jigs. Here’s a few of the fish i managed to get to the net. Terrierman, ollie, Hawkfarm and 9 others 12
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 19 Root Admin Posted August 19 Did you fish any of the barbless areas? Or don't they still have barbless areas on the NF?

I fished Rim Shoals, Wildcat Shoals, and the State Park up by the dam. Rim Shoals and the State Park are barbless… On the Norfork, there is a barbless section at Ackerman Access.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 19 Root Admin Posted August 19 We're coming out with a barbless version of our jigs shortly. I want to get down there and try them out. snagged in outlet 3, nomolites, dpitt and 3 others 6
netboy Posted August 19 Posted August 19 If you mash the barb on your jig, you are good to go in the C&R areas. Just be sure you totally mash them down. Jighog and snagged in outlet 3 2

I’ll have to get me some of those. I usually just flatten the barbs with my hemostats, but those would be handy. I had some of your jigs that i got from your shop when we went to Branson, but now i’m out. They work great. I need to place an order to replete my arsenal. A rock in the Arkansas River in Colorado claimed my last one. Lol…. Colorado trout like Lilley’s Jigs too by the way. Lol Johnsfolly 1

netboy Posted August 20 Posted August 20 I have been checked 6 or 7 times this year in the C&R areas. Thet want to see license and then check the barb, The last couple of times the GW came by in his kayak and didn't bother to check. He asked how I was doing and said, "have a good day". He did check the other guys. Jighog and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 20 Root Admin Posted August 20 I don't think we're going to charge any more for barbless...
