Quillback
Dutch and I hit the water at daybreak, around 60 early and 80's when we left. We covered a lot of water. the bass wanted to bite when we could find them, but finding them wasn't easy. We got a few off points early, including the big fish of the day, a 3 lb. largemouth caught by Dutch. Best bite was jigs up shallow out to about 20 feet. Rocky banks with timber. Caught a few on full size Zinkers and the Carolina rig craw. We caught 16 with 4 keepers. We both lost a few too. Saw a monarch butterfly, first and only one I have seen this fall. It acted like it wanted to land on me but took off after fluttering around my head. WT was about 77 when we left. Dutch
Bluebird sky and little wind didn’t help much today. If I could have kept some from coming unbuttoned we would have had more. It was still a good day to be on the water. dpitt and Quillback

I just fish "good" looking areas in the hope of running across them. I start top to bottom, fast to slow. Thx! dpitt

Pretty similar to what we did yesterday, but I have also fished so much in that area that I can draw on past experience as to what places might be holding bass. Fishing off shore, I'll certainly use the sonar to let me know if there are fish in the area. snagged in outlet 3, DavidB and dpitt

I was under the impression for years that this was called "fishing" but apparently I was wrong --- fishing these days seems to be pretty adjacent to watching college or NFL football re-runs in my living room, minus the recliner. Maybe La-Z-Boys or Catnappers are the next big thing in bass boat options.

I use cranks, jerks and buzzers this time of year to find em. If I find some I slow down and try to optimize that area. If we would get some cooler weather with wind I’d throw a spinnerbait. But we haven’t had much of that when I’ve been out. dpitt and Quillback
