Quillback Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Finally found a top water bite today, found it in 2 locations, first one was near a long point with timber, the second was in a little pocket. The fish near the point were over 30-50 FOW and the pocket fish were in 10-15 FOW. They were up on top chasing one inch shad, hard to miss them. Both places they chased for an hour or so, then it died off. Caught them on an Evergreen Shower Blow 100. Mostly spotted bass with a few largemouth. Right before I left, I threw the c-rigged craw across a point by Big M, caught a few on it, including a couple of smallmouth. Had one hard puller that got off. Boated 27 today, with 4 keepers, no outstanding fish size wise, but fun to get on top. They were pretty aggressive today, if they missed it, keep walking that bait and they'd come back for it. Had a couple that knocked the plug 2 feet in the air. I had a couple that spit out 8-10 shad by the boat. Air temp was 85 when I left, love this weather, but looks like a cool-down in the works next week. WT 74 AR Huzgr, BilletHead, nomolites and 6 others 9

Johnsfolly Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Congrats on having a great trip Jeff! Definitely a couple of nice bass photos. Good job on finding the topwater bite. So much fun watching them blowup on a bait. Quillback 1
Champ188 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Good to hear the topwater bite is starting. Dang it's been a long, dry summer.
