Just a thought - muffs and a hose are easier than a trash can full of water if you have a place to swing that. And if it was mine, I'd be suspicious of a weak starter. Good luck, we all admire your perseverance on this massive project.👍 It has really high compression. I believe the starter is strong enough. I think it just needs to be cycled and get the pistons oiled. I wanted to do some work to it after my shift today, but we are going out tonight, and I don't want to smell like fuel. I believe I'm on the home stretch, just gotta tighten up the lines, and connect the steering linkage, adjust the carburetor and send it. snagged in outlet 3, BilletHead, rps and 2 others 5 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. I was successful in connecting the fuel lines. I was able to pull start 'ol Frankenstein. HE'S ALIVE!! I did not connect the steering linkage, adn as seen in the video attached, i did not fill a barrel with water. I do have muffs, kinda forgot about buying them. It's been a journey, and I am satisfied so far. I caught fish today, and won a rechargeable aerator from Hydro Charge Fishing via Bassquatch90 YouTube/Facebook channel. nomolites, rps, ness and 4 others 6 1 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Daryk Campbell Sr Posted yesterday at 03:02 AM Author Posted yesterday at 03:02 AM I took the boat out on Lake Kinkade. It pushed well under low and medium power. High throttle it acted as if it was cavitating, and revving really high. I thought it was due to a spun hub. I ordered a new rubber hub, but they sent a 15 spline instead of 13. When I research the correct prop, it says 9.25 x 12 inch with 13 splines. When I measured the prop it showed maybe 8.5 inches. I plan to order the prop, but wanted to know if its possible the lower unit was replaced and if that may cause me to be chasing my tail. Daryk Campbell Sr Posted yesterday at 04:39 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:39 PM I figured he would reply in his own time and convenience. Also if anyone else may have experienced something similar, kinda hoping for thoughts. Overall, I'm still happy with the motor and experience. I am bad about not returning stuff and just dont need extra parts laying around. I above enough of those. LOL. fishinwrench Posted yesterday at 07:29 PM Posted yesterday at 07:29 PM Well, I would have advised you to mark the hub & prop, and then run it, to verify that it was indeed slipping. How did you get the hub removed? Surely it didn't just push right out. Replacing prop hubs is a job for a qualified prop shop...... I've actually never done it.

I did read that way to diagnose it, but I really couldn't think of another issue it could have been. The lake is an hour and a half away, so I got a bit anxious to find a reason for the issue. The bottom of the boat is flat with the anti cavitation plate. I used a ball joint press from the auto parts store loaner tools to remove the hub. It wasn't too difficult. fishinwrench and Johnsfolly 2 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
