Wanted to live the urban lifestyle, but got seen, reported to the authorities and trapped, I assume to be relocated but the story does not elaborate.  Cinnamon color.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — Witness video shows a young black bear being captured in Bentonville around noon on May 28.

Officers with the Bentonville Police Department and Bentonville animal control, with assistance from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC), caught the bear after it was seen scaling a tree in Bentonville.

“It’s probably a yearling,” Keith Stephens with AGFC said. “Momma pushes them out to be on their own this time of year.”

We’ve had young one wandering around south KC for a couple weeks. Spotted fairly close to my office and also near our Grandview branch. Crazy!

Not sure how he got from Grandview to Stilwell, but it’s a long walk. But I suppose that’s the only way a bear gets anywhere, and they’ve got lots of time on their paws.

On made News over in my area this week, a small one.

https://www.kfvs12.com/2025/05/29/bear-cub-spotted-near-leopold-mo/

I saw one about a month ago a few miles from the farm on my way out, it was a young one, but not a cub.  It was in an old yard and ran back into the timber.

They are doing well - heard they have become a not uncommon sight in Taney, Ozark, Shannon and Reynolds co.
