We were in Nevada for thanksgiving and ready to come home this morning.  I got up just a few minutes before 6:00 to walk dogs.  It was still pitch dark with just the lightest tinge of pink in the east.  Whilst out with the dogs I heard a big wad of snow geese riding that north wind to Texas.  I looked up and was amazed.  The geese were high enough to catch the rising sun on their bellies - every one fully silhouetted in bright white flying across the dark starlit sky.  Had to just stand and watch until they were gone.  Thankful for that happening when I could see it, I surely am.

Did you hit White Grill afterwards? Such good burgers. I stay in Nevada a lot when I work at the EL Dorado Springs Hospital

Not this time.  But you're right, they are the best I have ever had.  My opinion might be a little colored since I grew up in Nevada, "The Grill" was where everybody hung out, and I worked there in High School.

Swopes up the road or The White Grill? That's the real question..

White grill is better Ryan. It's a vintage destination.

I remember years ago seeing all the waterfowl flying over going  South and then returning North. My kids still think its strange when I hear duck or geese talking that I'll stand outside trying to see them.

Oh no problem with my answer.  White Grill.  Swopes is good but Grill is just the best.  Double Cheeseburger with grilled onions on the large bun and suzies.  For anyone who doesn't know what suzies are - they're the original curly fries.  Made fresh on site.

Double cheeseburger with grilled onions on a small bun from the Grill is still my preference.  If you get it to go don't set the sack on the truck seat......on the rubber floor mat is the safe spot!  Delway Drive In was really my favorite. Swopes at Rich Hill was ( is ? ) really good too. I don't get to go up home much any more. RIP Bob Seaver

I don't know much about duck hunting in that part of the world these days but in the 70's it was great. The river flooded a lot back then which made for great wading in the timber. Having mallards drop in on you by the hundreds like that is about as much fun as you can have.
