I know how much you guys love monkeys.

Yesterday morning I'm at the self-checkout at the Jane MO WalMart, they've got the checkout island deals where there are 4 checkouts, 2 pairs side by side.  There's a gal checking out on the one across from me, has a sling of some kind over her shoulder that has some sort of critter in it - I look expecting to see some kind of little dog, but it's not...it's a monkey.

It's not a chimp or a baboon, but one of the other types.  And it's wearing some kind of baby outfit.  It never moved much, but it was looking at me, and I kept an eye on it in case it jumped out and went nuts - I don't trust monkeys.  And I did not want to see myself in the local news, I can see it now:

.Arkansas man gets in fight with monkey at local WalMart.

There are firsts in life and this is the first time I have seen a monkey at WalMart.  An emotional support monkey?

There was a kid in the neighborhood where I grew up that had a monkey. That thing was aggressive, mean and nasty and as far as I know spent its entire life in a cage. I can't see a monkey and not think of that critter.

That whole family was a little different.

As kids we had a neighbor with a squirrel monkey as a pet. Also a nasty little animal.

There was a guy with a goat in a diaper at Rural King back in the summer.  Carried it like a baby, one of the small goats.  Was in front of me and another guy.  Held up the line for a while rambling about it.  I was looking for the paddy wagon and straight jacket to put him back in place where he belongs.

Funny thing about mental illness, they did away with Institutions for them.  Now they just wonder around on the streets on meds and vote.
