  1. On March 17,2024 we held our 40th gathering of novice fishermen to try and catch the elusive trout and we did so using many different baits such as count down rapalas, spoons, small crankbaits while others tried live bait like worms and minnows with some luck on all. Saturday evening was a tremendous steak fry and raffle for prizes with the winners being extremely happy just like the guys that won the tournament. The results are 1st place stringer Jim Hayes and Pete LaBoube with 11.83lbs 2nd place Riley, Maupin &Bullard with 7.38lbs and 3rd Hoffstetter, Wolf & Mohrman with 7.35lbs "ouch"! Big fish went to LaBoube with 4.05 Brown while 2nd went to Hayes with a 2.30 rainbow and 3rd was Bullard with a 1.60 rainbow. Quite a few fish were caught and we all had a great time thanks to the staff at Lilley's and a special Thanks to Phil for weighing our fish. Congratulations on 40 years of Lilley's Resort and Marina hope you are there another 40 God Bless.
  2. That was one of the most acts of humanity I have seen in a while kudos to you Phil and hope the dog finds his home. You are a good man and am proud to know you.
  3. Sunday we held our 38th annual trout tournament and thanks to the staff at Lilleys it was a rousing success even though the fishing was difficult we managed to catch enough to make it fun again. First place stringer went to Ruffel, Reagan & Snapp @ 9.19# 2nd: Fry, Waibel & Oser @ 6.02# 3rd Morris & Vaught @ 5.75# Big fish Jim Hayes @ 3.70# 2nd Darrin Reagan @ 3.01# 3rd Jim Waibel @ 1.37#. I also would like to thank Dean Reagan for his effort in coordinating this event and for the participants that enjoyed the steak fry and raffle on saturday evening as well as the fishing challenge this weekend. Here is hoping to see you all next year and the wonderful staff at Lilley. Almost forgot to mention that most if not all the trout were caught on minnows except the big fish and that will be a forever secret...LOL.
  4. Some would say that was being stubborn but I say no and think it admirable for sticking to your convictions as you would not know if it worked had you not stayed with it.
  5. Nice fish and one happy lady....congratulations
  6. We had a great day for a tournament albeit a windy one. Every kind of bait you can imagine was used as the bite was a bit tough for most everyone however the team of Reagan, Riehn and Hyland prevailed and got first with a weight of 9.57lbs with Riehn catching big fish at 2.21 lbs and Hyland had a 1.86 lb trout for 2nd big fish. The team of Snapp, Ruffel and Reagan got 2nd with a weight of 8.06 lbs and the team of Hofstetler, Wolf and Moreland got third with 7.32 lbs and I was fortunate and got 3rd big fish with a 1.67 trout. We wish to thank Phil for all the things him and his staff does to help make our little tournament a success. Will see you all again next year.
  7. Thanks Seth for the feel good it is just that I am not a big fan of bait fishing not that I am against it but would rather catch them on some kind of artificial as apparently we are not to good at bait fishing must not have the patience needed. Hope to see you at the Elfrink tournament at weigh-in with us at the top...lol Good luck to you then.
  8. My partner and I fished the Raw Tournament saturday but again the results were not what was expected however the day started with a real nice trout to start with but alas lost it at the boat and it was downhill after that. What ever we tried was not working for a long time but we persevered and finally caught some fish later in the day but only three were worthy of weigh in so when it started raining we released what we had and came on in. Congratulations to the winners and fishermen that caught fish it was a blessed day but again not so much for us however will be looking forward to the Elfrink tournament and better luck. Don't like to admit it but even resorted to minnows and worms but results were miniscule at best will stick with artificial less mess.
  9. Fished the Masters tournament this saturday did not cash but caught quite a few fish with one a little over 3lbs. We fished from Fall Creek to the landing and caught trout sporatically all the way on jigs, crankbaits and spoons but most were the same size and those won't make any money but fun to catch. Congratulations to the guys that won and hope to do better next time.
  10. Like Ron White says "You can't fix stupid".
  11. Take a trip with Duane your learning curve will increase dramatically.
  12. If my son can get some more vacation time I hope to do it again also. We caught one 2lber and a few decent fish but most were cookie cutters that were a lot of fun on ultra lite equiptment and surprisingly pulled quite hard creating a really good time.
  13. On thursday afternoon my friend and I came down to do a little fishing and it turned out pretty good. Friday my son joined us and we had a ball fishing from fall creek to monkey island catching fish all the way down but saturday was a day of dreams as we caught so many my friends hand got tired from landing them. We had many doubles and several triples simply the best day we have ever had just amazing. Had to leave sunday but fished till noon and they were still biting what a wonderful time spent with great company not to mention the fabulous fishing. Thanks to the Lilley staff that made our stay pleasurable and special thanks to Marsha for the bbq utensils. BTW we caught our trout on spoons!
  14. Sunday March 15,2020 we held our 36th annual trout tournament with the team of Kirby McKenzie, Jeremy McKenzie, A.J. Fraley and Ryan Cook winning with a total weight of 11.48lbs. They also had 1st and 2nd big fish with a 2.02 and a 2.01. 2nd place weight of 7.42lbs went to the team of Dean Reagan, Mike Riehn and Kevin Hyland who also caught the 3rd biggest trout at 1.73lbs while 3rd place was won with 7.10lbs by the team of Mike Morhman, Chris Wolfe and Clark Hoffstetter. Under the conditions the guys did real good as many had a tough time myself included. The baits used ranged from worms and minnows to jigs, spoons and crankbaits of all kinds and shapes. We would like to thank the staff for all the help extended to us via putting the tent up and tables gathered for us plus extra towels and a big thank you for weighing the fish. We are grateful to Phil and Marsha for the hospitality shown and will be back again next year.
  15. Thank you Phil will not make same mistake twice.
