  2. I’m not too proud to throw a Sabiki rig!
  3. I freaking love fishing with John and it was a really fun trip, but if you set enough silly goals for yourself, you can get snippy when they don't happen. I'm pretty surprised John did not mention the biting flys which really became an issue the last few hours of the trip. They took almost all the fun out of it. We had to pass up a lot of productive water. John and I need three day trips and then we still complain bitterly about just not having enough time. I really wanted to get John that Skipjack, but they are just crazy fish. I am Glad John got the Shadow Bass done. The Most aggravating part of coming up short on the 15 species is that we should have caught LMB pretty easily and we had our chances. We put enough baits in the right areas and should have caught a Chain Pickerel pretty easily, but John is CP repellant. those two would have gotten us to 15. The Greensides were right there for the taking, but darters are my bane. And the RBT and Logperch that were seen briefly. Common carp were seen often. I saw a big catfish cruising around. The river was at 2.35 or so which was great for running the shoals. I was pretty surprised at the limited boats on the water and the unlimited number of campers in that heat.
  4. We are all frustrated by the changes forced on us as we try to figure things out, BUT why in the world would someone take that out on people just trying to do their job. I'm Sorry your daughter is having to deal with any level of verbal abuse.
  5. Thank You. it’s too hot on the lake for me.
  6. Honestly, I changed my mind because 1) depth of body 2) weird area of oddly arranged scales at tail 3) length of dorsal (didn’t know they get broken) 4) color of scales
  7. I’m changing my vote to River Carpsucker
  8. FTR, I’m not frowning, but I am jealous. Very.
  9. I think it is a Quillback. I do t know How y’all managed to run across a rabid one that bit willingly. that’s unicorn vomiting a rainbow level stuff
  10. New England trip - Got the Rona Michigan trip - Got the rona Spring River in OK - Got the Rona I made the Redear trip with Quillback. Caught a Toad. I am not likely to get to 10 States this year. TX, LA, AR, MO so far. I am supposed to add Florida, Kansas, and Nebraska. maybe OK maybe IL maybe KY or TN I'll have to double check on trip totals. Lots of 50 Burgers, but not many (any? ) Benjamins so far. Sitting at 1498 fish to hand 45 species so far. 55 species is going to happen. We will see beyond that. 7 lifers so far. The Florida trip should blow that goal out of the water and push me along on total species number too. Still planning on hitting The Ditch. Still planning on fishing Strawberry River again.
  11. Just Do the Current River. Round Spring to however far you want to go (maybe Van Buren gets you that 50 miler from Round Spring). IMO, August is a terrible plan (too hot at night), but on the Current you will have plenty of camping options. You'll have flow. You'll have decent fishing opportunities. Decent amount of take out options.
  12. Darters ARE the Devil.
  13. Shimbindo lost me as a customer decades ago. They had years to fix a known problem and chose not to. I will not buy another.

  20. Man oh man rubbing those Flier Pics in
  21. I’ve got Chain Pickerel locations. Miles of them. I can call my shot.
  22. On a spinnerbait, No less.
  23. Basically, we would be catching Speckled Trout on the Louisiana Coast and then Bluefish would more in and you could not land a fish intact. The Blues would chop them in half. We would have to move. My dad was not a Huge Fan of Bluefish.
  24. Johnny Boy has caught Fliers. I have him on Striped Mullet though.
