There is a website out there that ranks non-profits on how much of a dollar actually goes to something besides overhead and marketing. As I recall some of the really popular ones only gave something like 15-20% to their actual cause.

Most farmers wont/arent going to donate. Cows don't get people to open their pocket book. They don't live in the house, most kids don't play with them, and dogs certainly hardly ever show up on the dinner plate in the USA. It's all about their target audience and who is going to give $$$.

Yeah were closing in on river walleye on table rock so it may be awhile before I head back to Beaver.....really want to catch a striper so will probably pick it back up after March.
-
I've tried 3 arms and 5 arms(3 for TRL). Blades, 2 blades per arm, and no blades. I can't say I've ever gone as small as 2.8" Keitech but have used a lot of 3.3" or the 4.5" I may give the 2.8 a try.
-
My guess is they will generate more or less how they have been at TRL and will continue to until they hit 917' which seems to be the action point. Then it will probably just be passing it through I suppose.
-
Didn't see any surface activity but I didn't show up early and it was a fog blanket for the first hour.
-
Put in about 9 got a late start and figured it would be foggy and it still was when I got there. Pulled out about 3. Was really hoping to stumble into a striper. Had a good fish on a spoon on a hump in the middle of the lake but it pulled off. Was really pulling some drag and head shakes. Assume either catfish or walleye. Threw Arig, spoon, jerkbaits. Explored....found lots of timber in a couple areas....anyone every do any good on crappie near the dam? Finished the day with 2 spots that might have been 12" I want to say I saw WT of 51 but don't hold me to that. FWIW I may be the worst A-rig fishermen ever. I don't know how much time I've spent throwing it but have yet to catch a single fish on it.

Got me beat......I would have bet 100 bucks its was one the ramps in emerald beach. I cant think of any other ramps nearby that look like that.
-
Is it the back boat ramp from emerald beach?

That right there may be the biggest problem with college tuition/debt and the ideology spread at universities. Sure go spend that money on that degree in Art History.....see how well you can sell yourself to get your first job. Then moan and groan when the system shafts you. Truth be told most of these people doing that are ignorant to the repercussions of their decisions and their parents don't steer them in the right direction to begin with.

Good question @JestersHK my gut feeling is BS will be nearing normal in roughly 10 days. At some point, I would think they would start to lower Beaver by passing through Table Rock.

I'm thinking I want to set the bar high: Take my daughter out on the lake and just introduce her to fishing New PB Walleye 8+ Catch whites on the fly Catch a musky in Missouri; striper in Arkansas(has to be a reasonable size fish, I'm not counting 12" fish) Fish in Colorado with my wife on vacation Possible brown trout in the fall Get back in the routine prior to having my kid of hitting the fish at the right times: Crappie/Walleye in winter/spring, whites, then gills and cats in late spring early summer, floating in summer. Trips currently planned: Ice fishing in MN, Colorado vacation(RMNP)

I find it hard to believe though that you would trust a court preceding/investigation based on facts and data over facts and data presented by someone with a degree just because it doesn't match your experiences. It just in my mind doesn't align. Hasn't your own argument against biologist been that they often have an agenda? That there not truly impartial, that they come pre-loaded with preconceived notions that leads them to the conclusion they want instead of what the data presents? You often directly refute what they say is the facts and supplant it instead with what your experiences are instead. To draw a comparison: Do you truly believe there is such a thing an an impartial jury/judge/police officer/detective/witnesses? Do you not think the those people always go where the facts lead them? Do you not believe there are people punished by the system wrongly, based on facts and data? INCLUDING eye witness accounts which have proven to be unreliable? I just feel like you using the court system to confirm your bias in a positive manner as it relates to religion while using the nearly same argument to confirm your bias in the negative direction towards scientist. FWIW: I did interview a gentlemen one time who told me point blank in the interview he was a convicted felon for molesting a minor. He proceeded to tell me he was extremely messed up and "God told him is touch her inappropriately". I don't know what his official defense was but that is what he told me in the interview.

Correct me if I am wrong but Pascals wager is only a wager of does God exist or not. The outcome of the wager changes significantly if you add in god's besides the Christian God's existence because the opportunity cost of "picking" the wrong god/God has implications beyond "nothing happens" which is the outcome of God doesn't exists in Pascal's Wager. Edit to add: I find it interesting that you say "The reason we have investigations and court trials because we cant just choose what to believe." You know the same could be said for a significant amount of science that you proclaim is malarkey.

I'd be all over this but I head to Minnesota the next weekend. If I am lucky I may pull off a day trip over but don't count me as a yes for any planning purposes.

Shore fishing near Holiday Island
Devan S. replied to Todd R Williams's topic in Beaver Tailwater/Upper White River
Covered pretty well. Only thing I can add, is on the north side of the Beaver bridge is a walking trail that will take you to the point at butler creek. I've never fished there from the bank but would be a spot to check out. In addition to all the access below the dam. -
minimum size boat for Taneycomo
Devan S. replied to Flyfisher for men's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
The only concern I would have would is 6hp enough to get to back upstream in the event the water was to come on? Low generation or no generation I would think you would be fine and the farther you get from the dam the easier higher generation would be. I think down around the landing to say lilleys/cooper creek you wouldn't have any issue at full generation. -
Do you run into any problems with your braid looping around hooks during cast and retrieve?
-
Docks and timber. Not every dock and not every bit of timber. When you find a successful spot mark/remember it. It will produce time, and time, and time again. Most guys I know have a dedicated milk run they have confidence in. This time of year isn't a numbers game. Your not going to catch 15 fish limits every time out and there will be a lot of 3-5 fish days but your not going to be catching many shorts.
-
I was intimidated by the Missouri until I spent 3-4 days floating it in a canoe during high water. Now I probably wouldn't hesitate to take my 17" Xpress out there. Except for dodging barges, buoys, and wing dykes(which were all underwater) there wasn't much to it.

I watch drone racing from time to time on TV. Pretty neat actually.
-
Yep. Thinking I may try to squeeze in Wednesday.

Put the boat in at Indian Creek at first light. Hoped to be chasing top water striper and was hoping I could stay close to the dam area based on @Quillback's previous years trips. This was by far the highlight. No fish to speak of there were single blow ups in several spots but nothing sustained long enough to actually have a decent shot. I junk fished until basically 1 with no more than a sniff WT was 55-57 all day. I used A-rig, jerkbaits, flutter spoon, spook, and managed to throw the 6" huddleston. Fished from Indian creek all the way to between point 5 and 6. Tried to search out humps or abrupt changes in depth and beat the banks and the flooded timber in what I believe is Moudler Hollow some. I am not a bass fishermen or a striper fishermen. This was my second time on Beaver and 1st time in over 10 years. Take my experience with a grain of salt. That 100' water really messed with a guy that spends 99% of his time up the Kings or White on TRL where I have to really look to find 50'+ deep water.

http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/mcharts.htm That page lets you select lake, month, and year(It seems to not be working for me right now but has in the past). Gives a lot of information, inflow, outflow, rainfall (@ dam and overall basin), volumes basically overall and on a daily basis. Pretty cool tool to check historical information out.
