  1. At least it is right side up. Mines laying on it's side against a pole barn. Couldn't even get a spot inside. I use the trailer during duck season to haul my layout boat
  2. Once you turn 60 you canget a lifetime hunting/fishing permit for $70. Over the 5 years till you are 65 that saves you $95 plus you don't have to buy a trout stamp or migratory bird stamp again. Me and @BilletHead are happy member of the 60+ card carrying crowd
  3. I have my boat set up with a transom mounted TM and a pedastal seat just in front on the front bench. the client has a great perch there to fish from. My only rule is they can't stand because I'm already standing and 2 standing leads to trouble. With the TM I can hover in the current and by standing I have the best view of rock structure. No problelms with this guide getting plenty of shots at fish.
  4. Marty can you tie us uo a few of those. Could be the ticket in off color water!
  5. definitely get cold feet and hands out there pretty easily, but how cold they feel is inversely proportional to how many fish you're catching
  6. is there ice below Powersite? Is it thick enough to get out and fish?🤪
  7. I was thinking of starting a thread similar to this. It looks like were not going to crack frezzing this week or next. What are the coldest conditions that you will go out in. For me I would think about going down to the mid 20's if the wind isn't too bad, 10mph or less. Years ago I went to Stockton in febuary and many of the coves had ice on them. we didn't stay out too long.
  8. That was an overnight I did by myself. floated down and then shuttled back to my truck with the bike. We float a section on the James often and it is actually quicker to shuttle with a bike than a vehicle and you only need to take one truck.
  9. Here's a pic of mine loaded. Both mine and @Gavinhas the raised transom which is key if you are going to mount a motor of any type on it.
  10. I have a voyager 17x32" can't remember the thickness put it is thin. Bad part if not careful, like me your'e going to bang it up maybe put a few holes in it which I have. But it is light, 130# so you don't have to get the trailer in the water to unload it. I have paddles in the boat and use them occ. but I depend on the trolling motor for most of the manuvering. It works well for 2, trying to fish 3 or 4 out of it would be a circus.
  11. i have a 17ft voyager. Use it often without shuttle but I don't far very far and have to walk it through shallow areas or stronger current. Run it with a 50# trolling motor. Problem with a padlle jon if you're wnating to run an outboard is the stern is raked so with an outboard the bow will run real high and the back will plow. Guess you could put everybody up front to hold it down. I ran it some with a longtail and it was fine.
  12. I even got to try some fried legs form his harvest, good bits. Keeps him out of the grocery store too.

I hope this battery will last awhile. On youtube I've seen an adapter for a 20v dewalt battery pack that some are using just to power the livescope black box. I emailed Dakota lithium battery and they recommened a 54ah lithium to power the electronics. It was about $400 plus another $100 for a charger.

got out yesterday, put in at cedar ridge. Had a friend with me who knows crappie on Stockton so thought with that and Livescope we would be in business. Went from spot to spot finding very little. Ventured up past Turkey Cree but the water was quite stained. didn't see much in the way of bait either. headed back towards CR still not finding anything. Got in the channel and cruosed along wathching the Humminbird. strated seeing bait so we stopped. 48 fow with bait starting around 35 to close to the bottom. Didn't take long and we were catching shorts. Livescope was great because you could follow the bait and stay on top of them. They were moving up the channel slowly and we stayed with them. Then the livescope started flickering then it quit. Continued to fish with 2D but often had to hunt for the baitwhen they went out of our 2d cone. Then we noticed the trolling motor was losing power. we'd been out for several hours with a modest wind to hold in plus my batteries are on their 4th season. Decided to head out unfortunately my electronics had sapped my starting battery which was only a seaon old. Luckily the wind was blowing us towards cedar ridge. we drifted to the point of the cove and then limped across the cove to the lauch with the trolling motor. Had it at near full power and we were barely making progress. Made it back though had 7 keeper crappie out of probably 40 total. Went out for 2 new trolling batteries and a group 31 AMG starting battery which will hopefully handlle the electronics

Don't know who you were addressing with that question. First trip for mine. I got the perspective mount with it. One problem, when you mount it on the trolling motor using the starboard mount the decal that show your tramsducer position on the downside of the transducer so you canb't see it. I put the trolling motor down and the livescope was looking backwards under the boat. I thought I had mounted it wrong and didin't havar the allen wrench to change it so I used it as is. Had to turn the TM 180 to see out in front and then back to use it. That limited my use. found out when I got home that the transducer wasn't lined up for forward looking. i can see how and independent pole for the LS would be a plus especially for crappie.

was out wednesday. Little Sac arm. Again a little stain probably 4ft viz. found some bait in State Park cove. One fella was catching short crappie with relative ease.
  19. Mr. Consistent I'd say. be interesting to find out how many pics of that Phoenix ruler are on this forum🤩
  20. A guy was pulling his Skeeter out of his storage unit while I was getting mine out. He had everything electonic. Humminbird Mega 360 and livescope up front. He said he thought the 360 was his go to unit. thats why I PM'd you @Dutch. He had the livescope on a separate pole on the drivers sid about even with his butt seat. He had a ram mount to hold it to the boat and he could swing it over into the water fairly easily. That made it indepentdent of the TM. He just hand turn it. He said this was all his own design and admitted it was simplistic but it worked for him. wish I had taken a picture.

  24. At 4 rivers I think Invisiman or layout boats are the way to go. we have both.at our duck club we now have 8 layout boats. Only problem there is everyone has to drive to the area.
  25. We had reservation in Muddy Creek. Never hunted it. I’ll try anywhere once. Little over a mile in. Not much flying 4 of us got one hen. Don’t think I’ll be back there. Ryan what kind of blind are you using? We had a good day in 2a a couple weeks ago
