Lefty and Marty were one of the greatest bass fishing teams ever in our part of the country Back when the limit was 10 bass my partner Greg Wilkerson I fished a tournament out of Campbell point. We had an unbelievable day out of Mill Creek and had 10 fish that weighed 40 pounds. I was feeling really good about our day. Lefty pulled up idling into the weigh in and he said Jeff did you catch them pretty good today? I was feeling very confident and said yeah Lefty we’ve got 10 that will go about 40 lbs he smiled at me and he said we have 10 that will go about 50 lbs They had 10 five pounders They won the tournament He was an awesome angler, and also a good representation of Jesus. He loved the Lord and I was blessed to have known him. Jeff Moseley

One of the ozarks Finest fisherman and a true gentleman. KY3 is saddened to learn of the passing of Charlie Campbell. From 1982-2019, Campbell co-host the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tips segment on KY3 with Jack Emmitt and later Jack’s son, Rick. Charlie’s first professional experience on the water was as a fishing guide on Bull Shoals Lake in 1958. When he wasn’t teaching school or coaching basketball, Campbell would take people out on excursions. Along the way, Charlie invented the “Charlie Campbell CC Spinner Bait” which lead to the Zara Spook’s regained popularity. In 1974, while owning a marine dealership in Branson, Campbell won the B.A.S.S. Federation National Championship and placed fifth in the Bassmaster Classic. In 1977, Campbell started his employment with Bass Pro Shops, Inc. While there he helped design the Bass Tracker boat, field tested many products for the company, and represented Bass Pro at many national seminars. His love was on the lake. Over the years Campbell competed in five Classics, he won 67 tournaments, and participated and helped out with numerous other national fishing tournaments. Charlie was inducted into the Drury University Hall of Fame, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2003, and the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2008. The Missouri House of Representatives named Campbell an “Outstanding Missourian.” Campbell graduated from Ava High School in 1951 where he played basketball, baseball, track, and tennis. He also won a state title in 1973 as a basketball coach at Forsyth High School and was honored as the coach of the year in the state of Missouri. Charlie Campbell was 87 years old.

Had 200 originals at one time still have several v38 green craws tennesee shads, bone , phantom green and a few other colors that I use and won't sell. If the V 209's are worth approx $80 each would be hard to turn down?

My folks lived on top of Virgin bluff for 25 years. several winters in the 70's and 80's had solid ice from river around the island towards Cape Fair. cars and trucks were driving around the island. One year as I motored up from Hideaway ran into solid ice at point 12. 15-20 eagles were picking shad off the ice. Really a cool sight to see.

Looks like the big bass tour lost Oakley as their title sponsor. https://bigbasstour.com/?utm_source=Big+Bass+Tour&utm_campaign=721a537f9e-2016_Big_Bass_Tour_Registration_11_15_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f0f7cf3608-721a537f9e-52724073&mc_cid=721a537f9e&mc_eid=331fe42e28
