    Whatchya Drinking?

Usually swirl some vermouth in the glass and dicard. Add chilled vodka shaken, and a dash of Angostuta bitters, then olives. Bitters, make a gin & tonic allot better too. Tito's in Vodka, Hendrick's Gin. Forget what rum won the taste test on the trip last Summer. Pusser's Navy or the Pyrat. Both got emptied in short order.
  2. Sight fishing for Snook Is awesome! Usual is Sanibel, Blind Pass between Sanibel & Captiva, or the pass at Lovers Key, unless they water is clear enough to see them off our spot on lower Ft Myers Beach. Chase them down in the Mangroves too. Peace R. Area, Matlaca, Naples & the Everglades too but those trips are pricey. i
  3. Tore them up! Good for you! Was there a fist fight to get your spot?
  4. Good cork is hard to find and pricey. Buddy of mine orders cork rings by the thousand to shape his grips and let’s me pick through his stash, and use his lathe when I build one. Usually around $30 plus a 12 pack of Nat Light.
  5. Some folks at Tyson should have gotten jail time for willful discharge of chemicals into a state waterway. But Big Ag and the Farm lobby own most state legislatures.
  6. Would rather fish for tarpon & snook over just about anything else.. Great fun on a fly rod and they eat WTD plugs too. Challenging fishing though. 4-5hrs a day is about all I can handle without hurting myself.
  7. Had fun shooting with my 10year old daughter last Sunday. She was a little inconsistent at first but her last 3 5 shot groups were quarter sized at 20 yards. She made me proud. I did not fire a shot.
  8. Think the kayaker wanted to be there.
  9. Looks pretty good
  10. Wonder if my camper is gonna float away. Store it by the levy in Valley Park.
  11. Put in right there the Sunday before last. Looks like its up 10' or more.
  12. Ok, you can blame the security guard. Cops are not that good tactically unless they are Swat. Don't think they ever have to keep their posterior low and crawl through mud & obstacles under fire. Eat a donut, most are great at that.
  13. You will never know how you will respond to incoming fire until you experience it. It is the fog of war. Scared to death, as is everyone. A leader needs to be there to motivate the troops to confront & destroy the MF's who are shooting at you. Do not fault they guy for it. Did 6yrs in the USMC and never had to walk into a hot zone. Would not know how I would react. Easy to toss him under the bus and play wouda, couda, shouda. but think did nothing wrong. If someone motivated his posterior to get in the show, think he would have gone.
  14. Think you can find some bank spots on the Andereson side. Left if facing the dam, opposite side from the hatchery.
  15. Rain is no big deal. Lightning I'll take cover.
  16. I agree with Moguy. Heat with a ciggy lighter, dip in the powder once, clean the eye then bake in the oven for a half hour.
  17. Just getting my Jon rigged with oats. Went with some 8' Carlyle utility oars & NRS horns. Not happy with that setup. Oars are too low. Have to avoid my kneecaps. Will get some tubes bent & welded to the gunwhales to raise the pivot point and put some bushings in there to secure the oar horns. Work in progress, but no time to devote to it for two months. 17x47 paddle Jon, 32 bottom. 55lb thrust TM on 12v will push it for 5-6 hrs. Might be cheaper to buy an extra battery.
  18. Would head to your nearest fly shop and pick the packs you want. Usually buy the large plumes and pull the fibers off the stem.
  19. Very nice! Could work with longer rods, even fly rods if you have a sliding rear window on your can.
  20. Humans are like Wolves. Pack hunters, born to run stuff down our outlast then kill it. The more you test your endurance the longer you will live.
  21. What's wrong with half a ZinkerZ(fat end) Dave's jig heads and some gel super glue? Can it get any better?
  22. What Al is talking about is a deflection test. Tom Hargrove uses that allot to match a blank to a customers desired action. Not opposed to cutting off a bit on the long or short end to get what I want. North Fork Composites Shooter Blanks is the only source for short casting rod blanks at the moment. Like my 5' 6" allot. Fits my height off the water in a low draught boat. Like a 6' 6"+ if on a higher decked boat.
  23. Customer has a boat and will be down next weekend. Gonna pass, have no idea about how to fish of a 40' boat, and doubt that they have any interest.
  24. Have assembled a 6-7 Rainshadow blanks and have been very happy with them. Think you will like it for what you bought it for or another purpose. You never know, but they do describe them well.

    Great Anthem Fergie!

Fergie just can't sing. Black Eyed Peas can't either. They are celebrities not musicians. They sound worse than Tom Waits if it's not run through a vocal tuner or lip synced to a backing track.
