  1. You will certainly know if they can match it to a known sample, and match variances to other known samples, and quantify the differences. They are likely mutts, but distant family to what is currently farmed.
  2. There is a study in progress funded by Gateway TU https://www.gatewaytu.org/project-redband.html
  3. Your back peddling and rambling. Have another drink & a joint😀!
  4. You can launch a Kastmaster a country mile and cover a ton of water quickly with one. One of my all-time favorites. I always liked a Panther Martin and Shyster's better than Rooster Tails, but they are good too.
  5. That's in Oregon, and the bass are non-native. It's their river, and they can manage it how they want. A wild Chinook (King) Salmon is a pretty special and endangered fish, and if killing non-native smallmouth bass helps them out, so be it.
  6. The Pittman-Robertson was established in 1937. Tell me where it's put a significant burden on anyone's 2A rights? Well you cant...because it doesn't. Plus the SCOTUS has your 2A back. It's just a money grab, effort to defund conservation and stick more land in the hands of big Ag.
  7. It funds state conservation departments. Pays for habitat. Some see no value in anything they cant abuse for a quick buck. Jason Smith would probably make his granny walk the street to give handy's if the Farm Bureau said so.
  8. They money is going towards some level of conservation. It makes a big difference in states where it is not funded. In their donors pockets is we’re most would send it. The Jeff City folks dem & rep both would like to control that 1/8th cent MDC money. I’ve been to the state house many times and heard it from both parties elected officials.
  9. Pittman-Robertson is a 10-11% tax on the manufacture of hunting & fishing equipment, and it does allot of good. 53 Republican Legislators, included Jason Smith have signed on to sponsor it the repeal. That money does allot of good in states that are not blessed/cursed with a 1/8 cent conservation sales tax and an unaccountable Cadillac Conservation Department, and I think its a bad move. You may disagree. Harass your legislator about it. Or don't.
  10. I've tied a few on 28's and caught fish with them. The old gold Mustad no eye 32's are the smallest I own. They are decorations on custom fly rods that Tom Hargrove wrapped for me. I might have some 32's from TMC, but there way bigger than the old Mustad 28 dry fly hook.
  11. I’m thinking SB will get his new boat after Oneshot gets his. Why would a man with a new boat be prowling the ghetto up by chain of rocks?
  12. Anecdotal evidence is usually worth less than you paid for it. One data point and therefore it works this way cuz dimwit Peepaw said so. People want to believe it, but it’s a mind virus. Listen to others is a good trait for survival, but the good advice gets accepted with the nonsensical stuff. It’s how religions, politicians, and advertisers rope you in and play you a fiddle.
  13. Inflatables need maintenance, so I won’t buy one. Chuck in the garage and forget about it until the next trip is kinda my speed.
  14. NRS is the place to go for quality paddling gear.
  15. My right & ease of access to firearms & ammo v. hurdles to stop the stupid, untrained & the insane. Maybe folks should have to pass weapons ed class? It could not hurt.
  16. My grandmother had a mulberry tree over here back brick porch. Messy, but tasty berries, will have to check the one in my local park. The wood is supposed to be good to smoke meat with but I've never had the opportunity to try it.
  17. Looks like a gut eating cannibal slob! You catch that one under a fish cleaning station?
  18. I dunno, don’t really care. Let there be songs, to fill the air.
  19. Fine with me, but I don’t my name on another Government list😀!
  20. That’s a piggy on a dry, not many places you can do that. With a shape like that you would think it was a slob cannibal waiting for some rainbow guts.
  21. Great ties and pics, allot of effort can go into to painting those!
  22. The water level is a bit high on both rivers, but it should be stable, sunny, and warm, with no precipitation in the forecast for the next ten days. Both rivers will be packed for the next two weekends. Have a great trip!
  23. There was a guy running a Mokai on the upper Current about 10 years ago. I guess he broke it, and stopped. He was hitting gravel in spots a jet boat, or loaded canoe would cruise right through. The Current and Jack's limits are on the Ozark Scenic Riverways website. https://www.nps.gov/ozar/planyourvisit/horsepower.htm The Eleven Point is limited to 25hp upstream from the 142 Bridge at the Narrows. You can run anything you want to run on any other river in this State. I saw an airboat on the Meramec a couple years ago.
  24. Wow! That does look nice. What does it weigh with all the gizmos and batteries installed? Buck 40?
  25. My wife is from Washington. The lake is a gathering spot, just like the bars down on the riverfront. I've been a there several times, give it a shot, but there is probably better walk in fishing on the BB and Meramec. Find a friend in town who knows how to fish for catfish on the Missouri. Hit the creek mouths, until you find a friend with a capable boat. You have lots of options.
