  1. Can spend all day in my tackle/camping/fly tying area. Still have a bunch of stuff to unpack from Canada and the winter float a couple weeks ago. Gals are going to KC for the weekend in a couple weeks, plan to do then.
  2. Ask your insurance agent, but avoid Servpro. My co-worker wasn't happy with them when his house burned down. You need some fans and dehumidifiers in there ASAP.
  3. I'd trust a driver with a 6 pack in his belly more than one who is constantly staring at their phone.
  4. Good Shooting! Have one just like that from my Grandfather. Great rabbit gun!

Every Dillo digs an ankle breaker hole. Shoot on sight.

    What's Cooking?

Yerba Mate, it's a tea like drink from S. America. Does not translate well without the Yerba in front of the Mate, prounounced Mat ah.

Guess you need some mate! You are older than I am, see if it makes a difference.
  8. 7lb 5oz + is probably swimming in Stockton or Table Rock. Lottery odds to catch one like that here though.

    What's Cooking?

Buddy of mine loves his mate. Has the little gord cups with straws and brings a bunch back from Argentina every year. It's not bad. Supposed to give you rock hard wood, have not noticed a difference. Maybe when I'm older.

    That looks great!
  11. Think all Missouri brown trout come from Shepherd of the Hills on Taney. Sheep creek strain from the Green R. drainage in Utah. From an old article, don't know what they are messing with now.
  12. April is no good for me, but that does not matter. Just get a bunch together and go. Can always do it again.

    What's Cooking?

Did not cook a thing this weekend. Drove up the river road to Pere Marquette in IL with the family and met my sis and her husband to be for a family style fried chicken dinner yesterday. Some great scenery along the river road, good company, and a good dinner. Was a good day.
  14. They $25 won't matter, just an add on to the boating while intoxicated charge.
  15. Looks like a great day! Used to Lobster dive and catch hogfish & grouper in Islamorada. Wonderful area.

Think that shad die off in mass when the temperature drops quickly. If it drops slowly they can acclimate to some extent.
  17. Nice rainbow Seth! They midge allot at MS, but they can be super picky about size, and color when they are keyed on that tiny stuff.
  18. In-stream gravel mining is never good. Biggest myth in the Ozarks is "Gotta get the gravel outta those cricks". In-stream mining It just increases the erosion upstream and will refill with gravel in a short time. Streams need a big stand of trees on the bank to limit erosion and maintain their health. That is contrary to most landowner's wants, so it does not happen very often. They want a river view or more pasture...then wonder why the stream bank erodes away rapidly.
  19. Good for you! That river fishes tough when it is this low. Think the rainbows have some limited reproduction, but have never seen any evidence of a successful brown trout spawn. The browns do the dance in October/November but I have not caught any par marked itty bitty brown trout.
  20. go here http://www.mudhole.com/ type in orange in the search box. The CRB IM6 series comes in orange, lime green, yellow, purple, pink. there is a spin kit for $99 with all the hardware. A wrapping jig could be made out of a cardboard box with a couple cuts from a razor knife. Not hard at all if you can spin thread in one direction, fit and glue a few things here and there. You will need some thread and epoxy too.

    What's Cooking?

We usually have corn bread. Lots of cinnamon in Cinncinati style Bean & Hamburger chiles.
  22. Mud hole sells colored blanks. Think they sell an orange one. Wrapped a pink one and a purple one for my daughters a couple years ago.
  23. Good for you guys. J & D look like they are having fun!
  24. Maybe do at Robertsville SP(have never camped there), or rent out Shady Beach for the weekend. Not sure what it costs to rent out Shady Beach. Would want to stay away from Onandaga and Meramec SP due to the weekend show that goes on there.
  25. Route 66 State Park (Former town of Times Beach, Federal EPA Superfund Site) is on the North side of I-44, this parcel of land is directly across the highway on the south side. Winter Bros has done some real wonders on the lower Meramec.
