Used Alaskan Seafood in Soldatna last time we did our own thing up there. Had 8 people up there, 6 fishing, one from England so we got to eat his fish. Shipped 150lbs of halibut, and 80lbs of salmon home for about $4 a pound. Arrived air freight, vac packed in portion sizes, packed in coolers. Was rock solid frozen upon delivery. Would just drop them by every day, paid the last day before we left and gave them a delivery date.

Busted my arse for the last couple weekends replacing wooden gates and fixing our wood fences. Gates are all hung and done mostly. Gonna drink beer, smoke meat, and pack for a trip to Canada tomorrow.

Would book a room in advance in Anchorage on the to and fro maybe a couple days to drive around. Anchorage is not a big town at all plus, it's usually crowded with Europeans on death march tour bus trips to Denali. Driving down to Cooper or Soldatna,, renting a cabin, booking your own guides and fly outs is slightly cheaper but it takes a ton of planning. Halibut charter if you want some meat for the freezer in addition to your Salmon.

Madame X in black, woodland cricket, and October caddis colors, and the Jarosik beetle from now till the first hard freeze. Little fuzzy things 18-26 occasionally.

Mainly floss fishing/snagging up there. It gets really silly.

Look better than tan & orange fish;)! But your right. Northern Smallmouth are impressive beast. Can't wait. Headed to Quetico in a week. Have you tried Great Lakes Carp Fishing? Clear enough to wade & sight fish for them with flies often.

Fish burgers/crab cakes are all about the same. Did some with canned salmon a couple months ago. Other than cleaning the canned salmon(skin & bone removal) it was quick, easy, and good.

That rock above Roaring Spring always has allot of aluminum on it. Mitch and me saw a guy rip a hole in his boat when were there a couple years ago. Mitch ran it fine though. Anything under 200cfs at Steelville is really low.

Have been burned by Shimano's plenty of times...Will never buy another. Guess there fine if you keep them dry in a rod locker and rarely use them. Toss them in canoe and get them wet and they have the shelf life of a banana. Have had good results with Pfluegers & Abu's.

Just got rid of a 2010 F-150 Supercrew 4x4 with the 5.4 V-8 and 3.73 rear end. Did 17-18 on the highway and 14 around town, around 11-12 when towing a 7,000lb camper. Did not even notice the camper except for the mileage decrease. Should be able to find a good 2010-2011 1/2 ton 4x4 in the high teens. Would have kept it but my wife wanted a bigger camper, traded it for a 2015 F-250 with a 6.2 V8. Gas mileage is about a mile less all around, and towing 10,000.

I would do the Gasconade or Eleven Point. The Bryant and North Fork experienced horrible flooding this spring. Sunburst ranch lost everything in the CG, ROLF was heavily damaged, many homes lost or damaged, two high bridges were lost, many others damaged so its a bit complicated to get around down there. The flood was horrible on the Gasconade and B. Piney too. Gasconade Hills and Boiling Springs Resort near Dixon are still in operation though. 11pt would be a better option if you want creature comforts. Just call Eleven Pt canoe and book your floats, and lodging. They have several nice rental homes in town and they are pretty nice.

I would go with a 1/2 ton 4x4 over a compact truck any day. Most vehicles tow anything up to about 3/4 of the rated tow limit easily, but seem to struggle toward the larger end of the rated range even if they are rated for it. Would install some hydraulic surge brakes on any boat trailer over 2,500lbs. Trailer brakes are not required in Missouri, but neighboring states require trailer brakes on any trailer over 3,000lbs.

Take as long as you want. Could do as a day float easily, but we usually do an overnight float and fish all day the first day. Paddle up to the Spring if you are able too then float down. We usually camp on a gravel bar near L. Hurricane Cr. In the Summer months. Might take us 3-4 days in late fall or winter. Lots of good camping spots open up when the leaves have fallen and the bugs are gone.

I fly fish when I want too these days. Fly fished exclusively for over 20 years, and don't suck at it. Have mixed it up for the last 12 years and have more fun. It's the easiest way to catch a fish if you can see it, but sucks if prospecting. Way slow.

Cashew Chicken is Sprinfield's signature dish. Is good! Made some paella last night, extended relatives did not eat it, but our Cuban neighbors loved it. So goes SW Florida.

Still a bit dirty here on Ft Myers beach. Plenty of catfish on the beach, the passes are allot clearer. High falling tide moving inshore to outshore has been best. Ocean side is really murky still. Would get a kayak and fish inshore if I was not leaving in the AM. 10000 islands/Naples should be good now.

The rain earlier this week really pooched the fishing. Finally clear enough to sight fish on Sanibel today. Spotted 7 Snook, got 4 to eat.
