  1. Shore Lunch is pretty awesome. I would not gripe about anyone keeping some small bass for that. Let those 14” + smallies go though!
  2. If you want to 🔥 your gas to check a list, go for it. Seems like a fun goal. Seeing new places is always fun.
  3. Nice trip! Nice mixed bag too! Love that area .
  4. Jealous Again!

    What's Cooking?

Wife & kids are out so I treated myself to a cheap manager special thin steak and must go produce. A little chili powder in addition to the S&P, garlic on the steak. Salad was 1 avacado, 1/2 of a ripe tomato, red onion bits, fresh lime juice, toss, splash of EVO, Splash of Red Wine Vinegar. Steak pan fried in EVO & a touch of brown butter.

    Dove 2022

Drove up to Weldon & Busch today. Standing Flowers at Weldon bottoms look really wet. Some mowed areas at Busch, Not much Corn up there and short dwarf beans. I’d doubt if there is much in terms dove food. No doves there.
  7. I never use any snaps or snap swivels, but many have success, and like them. I tie a loop knot, or tie tight to the hook. I keep it really simple, I'm on vacation if I get to fish.
  8. They aren't fragile at all. They are allot tougher than graphite rods.

    Dove 2022

That's were they are! It should be good until the cops come.
  10. Ferrules were cheap, they may have upgraded. That's the downfall of most boo rods.
  11. They old rods are still good . I would not waste money on a Headwaters though. It was about $250-300 each for stuff when I did that. It you want a nice Boo 4wt I’ll send you one (you pa shipping).
  12. Seeing good numbers in the Maryland Heights Bottoms in STL. Looking for a private field. Let me know.
  13. There are several hobby builders around the state. I've built 7-8 of them, but haven't in years. I still have most of the tooling and a half dozen or more 12' culms of Tonkin in the basement, maybe someday, maybe sell it someone who would use it.
  14. They were junk 15 years ago. The Classic Fly Rod Forum is still around. I'd ask over there. Those guys know all things bamboo and could point you in the right direction. http://classicflyrodforum.com/forum/
  15. Everything is temporary! Keep that in mind. I have not been out much this year either, but plan to hunt allot this fall, and there is a fall fishing trip on the Calendar. I hope all works out well for Y’all and you get out more in the future.
  16. Looks like fun, thanks for the report
  17. My buddy can tell you what those are worth.
  18. Have a buddy who buys & sells a bunch of used & collectible fly tackle I’ll PM you his number.
  19. As good as it gets! Good for you!
  20. Be careful with big lithium batteries they start 🔥’s, cheap e bike batteries in particular.
  21. I wonder how many tons of freezer burned crappie fillets get hauled to the landfill every year.
  22. Glad you got out! Anytime on the river with family is a good time!
  23. Will have to revise. Think my 8” cheap Cutco chef is the knife that gets used the most around here. Not the best but no worries if my wife or daughters toss it in the dishwasher. That’s probably happened 5 times a week for the last 20 years. My hands know that knife. It’s thoughtless,
  24. Drag a buddy along and run your own. Its the most reliable way.
