    What's Cooking?

Usually find the shallots by the garlic & onions. Creamed spinach is really easy, just takes a ton of volume to feed a bunch. Fresh Spinach Shrivels down to nothing when cooked. It’s also great flash fried. Soulard’s down by the brewery does some great fried spinach with parm. Goes great with their pork tenderloin. Edit- soulards is no longer.
  2. Dragging that little turd usually works...sure is boring though.
  3. Learned to tie from Mr & Mrs Sanguinet at Paul’s Bait & Tackle 50 yrs ago.
  4. Have not spent a nickel at FC since. Ed died. Sorry for the guys & gals who work for Bob.
  5. Have a buddy who float tubes it at night with the gates open. He is over 60, has done for decades. Caught allot of 10lb+ trout.

    What's Cooking?

Must go beef short ribs. Dicing meat for chili(5lbs Chuck, 1 lb pork shoulder).
  10. Pretty easy float but would rent a canoe. That & waders is all you need. Kinda small for a motor. Gravel will shred your prop.
  11. Yep! Them old brown fish! Need to pull it of the shelf and re read. My fishead name is Leonard Fitzgerald. Got that on the banks of Lake Superior🤪.
  12. If you want to fish for trout and smallmouth on trout water....1/8 oz hair jigs & 1/2 oz suspending jerkbaits. Usually fish a black bear hair jig(Bobby Westmoreland style with a rabbit strip tail),Lucky Crafts & Megabass (mostly discontinued colors). A Kastmaster spoon in chrome, chrome/blue, or gold can work pretty well, as does a Silver Buddy...not traditional trout fishing. Usually fishing with 8lb mono or braid and a leader. Smallmouth fishing is usually better in the heat of the day...12-4pm...Brown trout at Sunrise or Dusk...Rainbows when the sun is up (Dumb friendly fish).
  13. Just go trout fish. It is at its best in the winter.
  14. That's what sucks about the duck parks...you cant scout them...end up setting up in the dark at places you have never been before. Shot a goose while scouting today. Saw em coming down the levee towards me, no dekes, no call.
  15. Rockbridge will stock a good looking 15lb rainbow in your hole if you request it. Buddy’s father in law has 7,000 acres and a landlocked spring creek in WY. Fish are wild & big but max around 8-9lbs. He is fishing a trout park.
  16. There is a history feature on Google Earth. Think is under the view tab. Did not see squat in St Charles CO this afternoon. Some folks out at Purdy with an ice eater and 100 dekes. Blinds are sticking out all over.
  17. Settle's Ford is a bit of a haul from St. Louis County, LOL!...Will be within an hour of town. Thanks for the tip though.
  18. Good luck! Usually prefer river fishing, but might give you a call...Wife & daughters camped at Stockton with her BFF & daughter from KC last year and they want to go back...No clue how to fish that lake. Girls just want a pontoon and a tube to drag. c
  19. Wife is in KC, and gonna scout a walk in open area tomorrow & maybe hunt Saturday & Sunday. Think 1/2 mile in. Walk in rig is making progress.
  20. Ricky's Vid We had a camera man along with Mr. Jeff......This link is his edited vid of our hunt last Friday..starts with Thursday dinner.
  21. Catch them, look at the examples, and make your own ID. S/b good enough. They are good eats!
  22. Thinking things are gonna get locked up in the next couple days. Already busted 1.5” ice to look at empty skies once this year.
  23. Thinking you have shadow bass in SWMO, they look blotchy, Ozark bass on the White R Streams to your South East. Northern Rock Bass to the North & East of you.
  24. Those tungsten #7's will turn a turkey's head to goo.
  25. I've had good days when a front is moving through...Cold, gray, and stable weather is usually blah fishing.
