  1. Looking forward to it. I plan on building one in a year or two.
  2. I have to turn in my man card, but I bought a post Christmas gift for myself today. It' a camo fanny pack with lots f compartments and holder on each side for water bottle, or cans, etc. I plan on bushwhacking around a few creeks, and this may be the ticket.
  3. Many ways, Thanks to all. All who have posted, all who have helped, all who have made suggestions. Thanks for making this a quality forum. One that I am proud to be a member of. MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
  4. I can't see it. 2nd post that has a picture that can' be seen..
  5. Aldi stores have a 4 pack tray of hummus that is really good. The pint size tubs are too much of one flavor for me.
  6. Pretty interesting video. Worth the watch.
  7. Do you recommed a different plug wrench? I have one that resembles the 2nd picture. Today I had it pretty tight, but I still had a small amount of water penetrate it. I tightened it up one more turn and bent it sideways, but it seemed to do the trick. I don' care for the first one, hurts my precious fingers.
  8. I am current and legal. I bought the trailer new to make sure there wouldn't be any problems. I keep my boating card in the box. Motor is registered. Thanks for the tip just the same. I am odd on the fact that I really like to pay my share. I use way more resources vs what I pay. There is no way that I could afford to pay for the ramp, parking lot, roads leading to the area etc with the small amount that I contribute.
  9. I went today to putt around in my Gheenoe. I put out a question of where I could find enough water to launch,as most access points that I have used are very low. I found excellent water, pretty green color. There was no current. Water temp was 41. The river was 2-5 feet deep per my depth finder. Very clear. I seen 2 turtles, and a few suckers. I fished a Zara Puppy, and a HD Craw. I could not find a bite. There was a fish swirling the top, but was farther than I could cast. I will come back, the ramp is nice, the parking lot has plenty of room.
  10. Looks like I'm going to Times Beach . Have never stepped foot there, hopefully I cone come back with an extra one . Thanks for the tips guys, I will wet a line and return with a report.
  11. Thank you for the link. I know that Flamm City is to low to launch. I'm curious how far up until I will have access to the water.
  12. In the St Louis area, where can I launch a canoe on a trailer? Have a trolling motor, would like to use it. I want to take advantage of the clear water just to look around. A fish caught would be a bonus. Just was told that I have the next two days off. Have to burn vacation.
  13. Sound neat.
  14. The machinist jobs I've seen, don't pay like the jobs of yesteryear. The benefits are hollowed out, and the ones you will work with are not the quality of the past. You are typically hired on as a temp, and they pay just barely over some restaurants.
  15. Yes, I know that it could be significant, and am aware of the apps. I have a hard time ethically deciding whether or not it should be work related. I mean, if I go to a local mall while I am visiting a customer 20 miles from the office, should that be split in half.....? Just one of the mental challenges. Again, my contribution is small compared to my usage. I really don't mind. Then trying to recap all of the stops I made in a week, etc. It's much easier now to track, but I am stuck in my way.
  16. Very neat to read this. Thanks for sharing that. This is one of the things that keep me lurking.
  17. I don't have much as far as income is concerned. I have 3 kids and two working adults. We mortgage our house and have a vehicle payment. I own an insurance agency, and do not file for everything that I could to minimize taxes. I do a lot of driving and have for the 12 years that I have owned it. I do not take mileage deduction. It is to much to keep track of in my opinion. I don't mind paying taxes. I love the roads that I have access to, and could not afford to maintain them with the little amount that I pay. Not to mention the public schools and services that my family uses. I do like the idea of flat tax and that is it. No property tax, sales tax, estate tax, gas tax, cell phone tax...etc.
  18. Congrats Phil and family.
  19. Found Holzer this afternoon. Happened to meet Harris122 while there. I really hope you are able to catch whatever was playing with your line.
  20. I haven't fished at Flamm City. The water has been super low. I haven't caught any whites in The Meramec. I haven't been able to catch anything there. Just usually walk around the area during lunch break. I work in Arnold at Advance.
  21. Ok, I will check that out. I have sat at the bridge, under 55 and fished in the rising waters with no luck on lunch a few times. I will venture to that side sometime.
  22. Thanks Harris. I think I know the park. It has the big walking trail just off the highway?
  23. I really enjoyed many of his posts. I' glad he is doing well. Thanks for the update.
