I have been able to make a handful of short trips. The kids are getting into fishing more and more. My 10 year old has been doing well with the Ned.

Haven't seen many "northern " reports.

A few evenings ago, I took my new to me Gheenoe on its maiden voyage. My two younger kids and I tested the vessel. Powered by a trolling motor and old deep cycle battery we went upstream. We made it through very shallow water, and I was very pleased with the boat. We went until we were stopped by the shallow water and it just would not float, gravelly rocks were poking out, pretty shallow. We walked past the riffle, and found a large deep hole. No fishing equipment, but found some fishing litter, and trash, so we knew it must be a spot. We cleaned up, and decided that we would rerurn. Tonight we returned. There is an area to walk in to this spot so we did that. We used the Ned Rig. My 10 year old caught the first one, 12 inch spot. I caught the second one, my first Walter. I really was not sure what it was. Strange marking, snake like mouth. But the iridescent eye was my first clue. It was only 11 inches, would have thrown it back even if it was 18 inches. I casted 3 or 4 more times and had a hit, set the hook, nothing. Watched the line for a second, and it was moving, pulled up and had a fish. Reeled in my first small brown fish. He was also 11 inches. Nothing for the last half hour. The sun started setting and the Temps fell quickly. I can't wait to go in the spring.

I have never joined either. I believe most items can be bought cheaper than the charges. I do like the idea of fishing with items that you wouldn't traditionally buy. When I can guarantee more fishing opportunities, I may decide to join.

When you catch as many as I do,it's hard to round, or estimate. Hard to forget less than 5.

Due to Smalliebigs' luck as of late, I decided to try my rod at a half hour time gap and see what I could do. I started off with the Zarra Spook that I have been having great luck with, but could not get anything to give me a look. I seen the fish, they were there. I tied on the Ned with five minutes to spare. Two bass caught. This was about 3:30ish, South St Louis. They were both released. I did not measure them, first was definitely a keeper, second was short. I am not able to upload right now.

I love supporting the small businesses. I will also be a player. I use and love Dave's Ned heads, eh hem, "ozark finesse" heads. And can't wait to try my skunkworks lures. Should be able to tomorrow and Monday.

You are teaching him well. He did not shoot outside of his comfort range, and you were conscious of the legal time. You are doing it right.

Equal chances of drier and wetter conditions equals high humidity, and extremely heavy Dew. In my developed knowledge of meteorological studies. That and $5 bucks still won't be enough for a coffee at Starbucks. But trust me, I'm a lawyer. Lol

Mitch, those are on part with the ones I have always caught and,seen. Only seen the blue ones in fish stores.

Sounds like normal attire for some people around the rivers of St Louis. Lol. They are good people when you get to know them.

I had a host harass me and my family about payments once. I wanted to pay with my card, and the host didn't have a card reader. I explained that I went to the cashier and they were closed. The host didn't believe me. I went on explaining that I pay my way, and was with my family, and we were not there to cause problems. The host came by multiple times asking for proof that I paid. The office was still closed. Bad experience with a power hungry person.

You guys will never get the correct answer front and English teacher. It is a math question. In algebra words are used to show value, or lack thereof. I know this is kindergarten, and algebra is not in their curriculum, just wanted to weigh in with my two cents.

Sam A Baker is a great park with cabins. It may be farther than you want, but an amazing park.
