I am entertained by the way people flop on both sides of the topic. Not any person, just the whole forum. One day, it is said that we need to share as much as possible, because the fish won't be there tomorrow. Then we say, no, loose lips sink ships. I get out about 4 times a year. I really enjoy reading every thing people offer. I understand the possible impact, but also when you consider the larger reservoirs, it is really minimal. How many fish get taken by the pros? They "know best" . They can't catch fish alot of the time, how would some weekend warriors clean out the lake? All of the electronics give way more info than these reports. Ducky Doty did an expirament a few years ago, and it turned out opposite of what most would expect. He was looked down on, but I thought it was a great try.
The smaller creeks, and rivers, I totally understand need to be protected. But the larger lakes, I really don't believe are under that great of pressure. Most of the posts are talking about pleasure boaters and not fishermen as far as the influx of boats.
Thanks to all who have posted information to assist others. Hey, the basics are all that are asked for. That and respect.
