  1. I built one. They are great on flat hard ground. If you have sand and uneven area, it gets tricky. I also am toting close to 350 pounds boat and equipment.
  2. Just make sure you have a spare area for the drop-ins.
  3. Sorry to read this. Sounds like he got the second chance at the end, and used it well.
  4. Cool pictures. Thanks for sharing. Would love to see some shark pictures. Good luck to you.
  5. I agree with this, But minor in my thoughts also. Seems that the "heart" has an 'x' to indicate the reaction. Before you coukd hit "like" and move on. Now you have to choose how you want to like it.
  6. I have wondered that for years.
  7. John, how are you able to identify the fish? Is there a book, or pamphlet you could refer me to? Thanks, Daryk.
  8. There are just too many options. 50 , even 30 years ago, you didn't have the "internet". You didn't have a tv in every room. You didn't have cell phones for everyone in your household. Cable tv had far less than the 99 available options the box was capable of. Sports were not as available then as they are now. Why is it that we don't think it's acceptable for a young child to be out on his/her own? Al mentioned being a kid and going to the river alone. I believe it's the media's fault to start. How many more children are taken nowadays vs 50 years ago? 1 is too many, but how badly are we hurting the children by restricting them? When is it ok for them to spread their wings? At that time, what are they prepared for? How did they prepare? Because of 'age' ? Sorry for the rant. I Grew up in South St Louis city, 4th of 5 kids. We roamed that city safely for many years without being killed, abducted, shot, etc. It just bothers me when kids are not allowed to be kids.
  9. There is a product called "seal all". It is sold in parts stores and hardware stores. I believe it does work with polyethylene.
  10. I work at a parts store. People want us to be mechanics( and we try to give helpful advise). I can't resist asking them to repeat the process and sounds multiple times.
  11. I have a tiny skillet made for a single egg. Gonna try this with olive oil as I have no goose fat......
  12. So if I bought a crispy chicken sandwich and gave it to Wrench, who's conservation # would have to be on the paper bag?
  13. Just for arguments sake. If I have no fishing license, or claim not to have a license, then could the DMV officers still search with no probable cause? If I did not sign, then that excludes me from the validation of permission. I do have fishing and small game with trout stamp, was just using the reference.
  14. I wear mine religiously while on the boat/canoe. Even while loading. I am teaching my kids to do the same. Sure, maybe nothing will happen, and look silly. But I also wear my seatbelt in the car and helmet while I bicycle and skateboard. Sure the generation before me was tougher, but a lot of them died early due to accidents. I have 3 kids to worry about.
  15. Carp are a lot of fun to catch. My first fish was a carp.
  16. Good to see your still here Saluki .
  17. The kids are all right.
  18. Hey now, what are you thinking? Everyone should follow, no free thinking here.
  19. Ness, that was funny as well.... I see the same 'plant' that chief screen shot. I was worried about you wrench.
  20. I don't see a "shoreline protection tax" (or anything similar) really doing anything to reduce the bigger boats. It surely would not be used to protect the shores. You would have to hire a new position to verify the tax was being paid and then you would have to hire engineers to debate whether or not the erosion is natural . Those who can afford the larger boats and fuel to operate them, will be able to pay the fee, and the lakes will still suffer. Create a limit on size/displacement, and those that are currently docked get a "sticker" and once they leave the lake, they cannot return.
  21. Very educational post. Thank you, (although I am eating lunch). Where might one find thise hooks/clips?
  22. Bo, 2 questions if I may. You mentioned a knot that you have been using for braid, but did not name it. If you don't mind, I am considering trying braid, and am curiousof knots that are good. Secondly, on the bladed jig, where does the knot get tied? I have not purchased one yet, but am trying to understand how it works. I primarily fish muddy waters, creeks and small rivers. I know you are a lake guy. Thanks. D.C.
  23. Spying on the female campers.... lol. Good on you Wrench.
