Actually if you draw your line at 20 yards you can still hear the yuppie conversations around the pipe holes.....and some of them are true classics. Did you know that the new model BMW's have a push-button drive mode that allows you to easily smoke any state trooper? I learned that little tidbit just by slowly making my way through them. 👍 I wonder if they have that cool 007 license plate flipper thingy too? Sawweeeett !

The thing I dislike about the trophy area of Taney is "outlet fishing". When the fish are shoulder to shoulder with their nose stuck in an outlet I just don't see the sport in it. Personally I won't fish within 30 yards of a stupid hatchery outlet......but I'm sure glad that the mass of the crowd on any given day literally flocks to them. 🙂👍

I have never had binoculars that failed to show me what I wanted to see because of LENS QUALITY. But I have had cheaper ones fail to be useful because of fogging or water intrusion. The fact that they are sealed up good, and nitrogen filled, is the important thing. Lens quality isn't that big of a factor IMO. The mechanical focus apparatus is where the problem lies. Pretty hard to effectively seal the tubes when you have THAT.

Yeah they pretty much just lean against you, and really don't have any tricks to pull. The small-medium sized fish seem to have plenty of spunk though. 👍

Nice! @fshndoug and I been hitting it through the week, headed back home to the grind tomorrow I think. It's been all about dry flys, scuds, Cracklebacks, soft hackles, and wooly buggers for us. Pretty much just choose what you wanna throw......and keep on slinging it. 👍

When my wife and I had Covid I began having feelings of impending doom. I finally had a tearful conversation at her bedside stating......."Look, we have got to get up and fight this thing". It wasn't that either of us was violently ill.....No crazy fever, no nausea, no congestion..... It was just as if all the energy was gone, and we both felt like we were gradually dying. Pretty darn scary. Never lost my sense of taste, but my sense of smell still isn't even close to what it was previously. Gasoline and ammonia aren't even strong odors to me. And what has it been....2 years now? Shampoo smells like candle wax, regardless of the brand. And a few other things. Weird! Most other things smell normal, just way less strong.

Exactly. Or whether or not you even care who is on your property. I have a piece of property that people ride off-road vehicles on all the time. I don't care. I have bigger fish to fry than worrying about who's cutting ruts on a piece of land that I'm not even using. 🙄. Have at it !

No sir, the county prosecutor is who decides whether or not a crime was committed. And they are quite often wrong....... or fail to have all of their facts straight. I can have you immediately removed from almost anyone's property, with nothing more than a phone call, and can possibly have you convicted of trespass, and fined, for being there. Whether I have any authority to do so or not. Cops aren't ever going to give up their "We had a report of...." path to rights infringement. And by not doing so, opens doors. Lots of them. We really need a cool lawyer on this forum 😁

Abuse/destruction/pollution by farmers, nearby landowners, gravel pirates, road crews, ect. that assume that nobody would notice.....and that nobody would care. The more FRIENDS a place has, the more oversight it has. I know that, especially around my area, places are posted "No Trespassing" by people that don't own, and don't even know who truly owns the property. They'll even call the Sheriff and have you cited for trespass......when they have absolutely no authority to do so. In many cases the law doesn't even check to see if the ones "reporting it" are even the owners. It's total BS ! If you're cited for trespass and take it to court.....then the bona-fide OWNER should have to appear....... but they, nor anyone in their behalf, never does. The county just takes your money, and adds a mark to your "criminal record".....cuz they think you're stupid......and most folk are. If you are ever cited for trespass, make sure the prosecutor DOES HIS JOB ! You can do this by saying....."Hey, I talked to a guy that SAID he was the owner, and he gave me permission to be there......then here comes THIS GUY! So now what? ".

Totally agree. Personally I have seen more places destroyed because not enough people were aware of them, than I have seen lost because too many people were aware of them.
