  1. The NFOW is a pretty river, but it's a bit too quick for my taste. Even the slowest stretches move too fast. Waist deep water that you can't hardly stand up in.....just stresses me out.
  2. My daughter is currently in Athens, Ga. helping design a bio-mass plant. These plants burn sawdust/wood chips/and giant compressed cubes of the garbage that we all generate, to make steam. The exhaust is somehow made safe (clean) by filtering through an ammonia mist and recirculated numerous times before being expelled back into the environment. Giant drip-legs even collect and recirculate moisture so that very little water is wasted. Currently this is the only "green" power plant design that doesn't require major funding by the government and their so called "renewable energy credits" (which are slowly and deliberately bleeding us all dry). These plants are designed to completely pay for themselves, and their lifetime operational costs, in 14-17 years, and will last long enough, with minimal maintenance, to supply enough power to support their grid for at least 40-45 years. The only byproduct is ASH which can be used to build better roads, sidewalks, parking lots, and concrete foundations. It's pretty cool, I think. And raking leaves or picking up trash along the roads may eventually be a lucrative endeavor for those like my worthless step-son who CAN'T SEEM TO FIND (or keep) A JOB. 🙄
  3. As I understand it, eagles and birds are the least of the wind turbines problems. The biggest, is the fact that an individual wind turbine can't produce enough power in its usable lifetime to even pay for its construction.....much less make anyone any profit. And if nobody can profit from them except the folks that erect them, then.......yeah 🙄. Pfffft ! It's a circle of financial death, and a total waste of copper, graphine, and magnets. Insurance companies that will write policy's on them are rapidly either bailing out completely......or only offering premiums that even further reduce any potential benefit of their ownership.
  4. I have no experience on the specific creek/river that you're discussing, but around here....high murky water is among the best conditions you can have.
  5. Yeah, ain't that somethin'? I'll tell ya what......The war would just be starting if a white man had bitchslapped Chris Rock at an awards ceremony ! They'd have shot him down like a terrorist. Cities across the nation would be on fire, and Al Sharpton would be on a podium somewhere. Since it was another black man though...... it's just theater. Entertainment even. 🙄
  6. Hmmm, so just like that.....Covid isn't a thing anymore, hu? Interesting 🤔 Welp, I'm glad we beat it. 👍 🙄
  7. Craziness ! 🙄
  8. As far as rivers with a gradient like the NFOW has...... Nobody has any business being on them after dark unless they know it like the back of their hand. Ever seen the movie, Bird Box ?
  9. Methamphetamine !
  10. I bet Cherry Chap-Stik takes him back. 😘
  11. Sounds worth a try 👍 What's the name of the stuff you're using ?
  12. Nobody appears to be effected by fuel costs in the areas that I move about within. I mean yeah they'll all whine about it if you mention it.....but it sure isn't keeping anybody from going anywhere that they want to, all day, every day. I honestly believe that even if gas was 20.00/gal. the roads would still be ultra-congested with folks driving around willy-nilly just cuz. Hell, as long as this many people are willing to pay 5-6 bucks per gallon and still spend 6-10 hours a day driving around.......then what incentive is anyone in the industry gonna have to LOWER the cost of gas ?
  13. Fingernail polish doesn't hold up very well..... although that's what I use on my clouser eyes, because let's face it....they aren't gonna last very long regardless. Wipe your lead down with alcohol and let it set until it gets that dry fuzzy look to it. If the lead stays shiney then there's still some oil on it. Paint it, let it begin to set up, then dot your eyes while it's still just a bit tacky. A shot of clear coat, or epoxy over the paint sounds like a good idea, but in my experience it doesn't seem to help at all. Plus it turns to slimey-sticky-goo if it comes into contact with plastic or rubber. Automotive touch-up paint has been best IMO for bass jigs, popper bodies, crankbaits and stuff that I want to last more than a single day.
  14. Y'all should strip some streamers on a OneCast before that bite goes away.
  15. When is that ever NOT the case ? 🤔
  16. Yeah! Ya gotta use vibration proof butt connectors. I thought everybody knew that. Sheesh! 🙄
  17. Not surprising, since bass quickly learn to seek out rocks and crevices to find crawdads. And trout quickly learn the best places to intercept drifting insects. Even flys and ants have no trouble finding a picnic.
  18. It definitely changed me. I learned that the stuff that came out of the drinking fountain at Mexico Senior High school was liquid Mercury, and that after swallowing a sip you couldn't lift your feet off the floor or else your teeth would fall out. Had to SHUFFLE my way to economics class. 😳 Kids, if you learn nothing from me ever, just take this advice. Do NOT do acid trips in school !!!!!
  19. You can have this one for a buck-fitty plus shipping.
  20. They did. Charger boats have Champion hulls.
  21. I believe that contrast in a fly is an element worthy of the added step of a wing on a dryfly, or the herl on a crackleback. It either does one of two things.....it either causes a fish to move closer to the fly, or it causes a fish that has moved closer, to go ahead and eat it. Tie a Griffiths gnat with anything other than grizzly hackle and see how many takes you get, compared to one WITH grizzly hackle. Or skip the darker thorax on a nymph. Contrast simulates movement to a fish. The fly appears to be "breathing" maybe. To each their own, but all of the best/most productive flys we use have an element of contrast. Omit at your own risk. 😉
  22. Conspiratorial scientists claim that the Covid vaccine that y'all took put a permanent curve in your DNA profile. Makes me wonder if the LSD I experimented with back in the '80's put a curve in mine. 🤔
  23. Welcome. 👋 If you truly want to experience Missouri fishing you must pursue the revered, and soon to be extinct, McCloud Rainbow. 😉
  24. Good Lord! 🙄. How did all of my posts get buried in the middle of a MoCarp photo dump? 😣
  25. I have no recollection. 🤔 Never cut your Marabou tails with scissors though......it ruins the action. Tear the tips off with your fingers, if you must. 👍
