  1. 1 Chronicles 1
  2. We had a couple of 70 degree sunshine days a couple weeks ago, and at a house right on 5 hwy., right out in the front yard on a lounge chair not 30 yards from the edge of the pavement, and 1/4 mile from the entrance to the elementary school......Boom! I'm surprised there wasn't at least 2 head-on collisions and a few mowed down mailboxes. The guy that works the quik-mart in town said he only got asked about 15 times who lived there. 😁
  3. Boobs are so free around here that they've lost their shock value. Wait, what did I just say? That's a lie. Nevermind. 😎
  4. Nice rig! BTW, I have a new Bimini just like that one....but in BLACK, has a cover and everything. If anybody wants it just be the first one here to grab it....and bring me a Subway sandwich. 😊
  5. "Dock that chink a day's pay for sleeping on the job".
  6. Beautiful! Al Agnew, eat your freakin' heart out. 😎👍
  7. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. 😊 I bet when you decided to order that new set of binoculars...you shopped for the best price. You can't blame companies for trying to get the most work done for the least amount of money. That's not being "hateful to your employees"...... it's just business.
  8. Ask him....."Why, were you fixin' to buy me a set for Valentine's day? If so I can return them".
  9. No sense in charging them. All they would have to do is tell the judge that the dog just showed up where they were at, wouldn't quit pestering them, and some random person told them that they thought the dog lived THERE. And they were just being a good Samaritan and attempting to return it. Which may very well be the case. There's no evidence proving otherwise. Obviously they aren't terrible rotten people or they just would have dumped him any old where and sped off into the sunset.
  10. Oh I can justify it 😎 I have a buddy that throws those big 3/4oz. Thumpers with painted blades the size of Datsun hubcaps. One of these days he's gonna start putting on a clinic from the back of the boat.....and I'll need one BAD. 😁 I'm ready for that day.
  11. I actually only have 3 that are my go-to's. Carry about 60......but only ever reach for one of those 3
  12. When it comes to big river smallies.....the Meramec gets the prize. Why is that, do you suppose? I'd expect the Gasconade.
  13. That sounds aweful. Spinnerbaits are a PIA. The best "system" I've ever used is just heavy ziplock bags on a ring.
  14. Now that's an award winner !
  15. Where determines when. I'll probably go somewhere close to home Monday 😊 You're always welcome. And guess whose boat is NEVER down? 😂
  16. I think y'all misunderstood my point, which was that just because your boat is temporarily down doesn't mean that FISHING is no longer an option in your life. Yes, motorboats are great! Obviously. I was just reminding you that a really good time can still be had without one.
  17. I guess the difference is that I'm not listening to or messing with an outboard motor. Which, since I already do that every day, it's nice to get away from and enjoy fishing minus outboards every once in awhile. Why would anyone ever want to enjoy a meal..... without having to cook? 😊
  18. I think it was 3 years ago, the dogwoods were starting to pop.....then we had a 5" snowstorm and a week long hard freeze. No dogwood blooms that year, but a record spring at my secret bluegill pond.
  19. Ameren (Bagnell) only seems concerned with the LO lake level during the economic season. They never fail to have the lake near full pool for Memorial day weekend, and they will do anything to keep the level below 660.5 regardless of river conditions below the dam. The only corp lakes I pay any attention to are Truman, Pomme, and Stockton, so I'm clueless about the White River chain and how water is being managed there.....but it sounds like they are doing the exact same thing (whatever it is) as the Corp is doing on the Osage basin now. All I know for a fact is that THIS YEAR they are operating differently than they have been in the past, and I'm stuck wondering WHY.... because what they were doing in the past has always been successful. Why alter a method that has worked and has withstood the test of time during MASSIVE floods, and also during periods of wicked droughts ?
  20. FERC I think. I doubt that it's a money thing, more likely a pecker measuring contest.
  21. If you don't use a loop knot (and most guys don't) then No it probably doesn't matter. Your success with Clousers (or any other fly, really) will double, or even triple, if you attach to the tippet with a loop knot. Clousers are designed to jig. If a glide is what you want then there are way better flys for that presentation. In the late Summer when Whites go on feeding blitzes it usually doesn't matter what fly you use, so a fly like a bucktail or standard Deciever that you can cast a mile, and do it quickly with the least amount of effort, is the best choice.
  22. No denying that it's really "neat", but you caught alot of fish before you ever had one. Didn't ya?
  23. The only thing that has changed from years past, when they operated in a fashion that made sense, is that new guidelines were put in place by the government in relation to big river levels. So the ACOE seems to be operating at the extreme of those guidelines so that if/when water conditions get out of control they can blame those new guidelines (that they aren't even following properly). It's like they want things to go haywire so they can say "There ya go, now look what YOU did!" They wanna stir up a political FUBAR
  24. Ameren claims that ACOE has no effect on them. And ACOE claims that Bagnell has no effect on what they do. But when you call the Bagnell hotline they often say "We are working with the ACOE to.... blah blah blah" And when the ACOE had their meltdown meeting last year they clearly said that they couldn't release water because Lake O couldn't take it (and LO was 2.6ft BELOW full pool at the time). None of their rhetoric is consistent, or makes any sense to me.
  25. No, what I truly think is going on....is that a new generation of leaders are in charge now, with "fresh ideas", and they are flexing their "We are going do things differently now" muscles. Because that's exactly what has been going on at Ameren over the last 6 years. But everyone says Noooo that's not it.....so NOW the only other reasonable explanation is the conspiracy thing.
