  1. Seems to me that they will take any road that doesn't lead to an illegal gigging conclusion. Alien obduction isn't beyond consideration first. Not sure why they feel the need to defend it so agressively....but boy they sure enough do. The tag gets ripped off with a pair of rusty needle nose pliers...."ah, some critter has chewed on it". Whatever πŸ™„
  2. While you're at it, please demand the sun to shine and the wind not to blow for the rest of the week.
  3. Tell them you will hold their check (minus 250.00/500.00/or whatever) for a few days. If they think you sold them a rig that wasn't "as advertised" then they can bring it back and only be out a little "rent". That's the way I do it. Have never had a problem. Typically I'll fire it up cold on the hose, let it warm up, rev it a few times, shift it a few times....and they throw down the cash or write a check. Test drives on the lake? "No sir, ain't nobody got time for that".
  4. Another boy becomes a man. πŸ‘
  5. There ain't nothing to walk on under that lake. Pretty sure that soggy muck-pudding goes all the way to the core of the earth.
  6. My wife was concerned about freezing to death the night before last. I had to remind her that it was colder in the house back in July when she was bitching about the kids going in and out too many times. πŸ™„
  7. It's an Asian anti-aging treatment, relax and enjoy.
  8. Good hit !
  9. Duh! Do you know how bad you'd get hurt if that thing took an immediate right/left while bookin' up the river?
  10. I'm just saying...... I've seen plenty of steering CABLES get stiff and eventually seize, but I've never EVER seen one break and let go of the motor. Hydraulic pumps, hoses, and fittings fail all the time. And your STEERING SYSTEM is the most important component on the whole dang boat ! Therefore I'm not at all in favor of the "lovely convenience" of hydraulic steering systems on any boat capable of more than 30 mph. Hydraulic ASSIST would be cool, but with straight hydraulic, you're just asking for it.
  11. It wasn't me, I never get so far out on that lake that I can't make it back before dark. We were sitting in the little cafe across from the lock eating breakfast and saw the lock operator get there and immediately open the gate. When he did those boys came idling into the inner canal, and we were like "holy crap, they've been out there all night!". They were out shiner fishing and when they got ready to head in one of them dropped their handheld gps gizmo and it bounced out of the boat. They had trouble finding their way back and didn't make it in time. This was back in the dark ages before everyone carried cell phones around with them. 😊
  12. Ok, but what happened that warranted the hose clamp fix in the first place ?
  13. By tracking trout on a stretch of river, as I see it there are only 2 things to learn. 1. Daily/weekly/monthly movements. 2. How long they survive. If a flood took out the monitoring stations(s) then a portable monitor should still be able to find them. Right?
  14. Well yeah! I heard it here on OAF so it must be true. They (MDC) was putting the antenna on top of some outfitters office....or something, right?
  15. Whatever became of the radio tracking trout study on the Meramec that MDC was supposedly fixin' to piss away a bunch of money on ? Is that currently going on?
  16. Spinning rod. Jigs and Rooster tails. Doesn't count.
  17. It's quicker to go 5 and C. ☺️
  18. Of all the audacity ! πŸ™„
  19. It's called "Boston nymphing". Apparently you missed the seminar.
  20. Listen here: You high powered international technique type trout slayers need to just back the phuck off the urban trout program and leave those fish for the poor underprivileged city folk that would never get to touch a trout otherwise ! I mean.....Have you no empathy whatsoever? 😏
  21. I think I'm in contention for that title this year. 3 skunkings in a row during a time that I am usually sore from catching so many. πŸ˜’
  22. I don't hear much about that little stretch anymore. There was a time....
  23. I don't know it's capacity. And no I don't bleed it...it bleeds me !
  24. Mine has been up my posterior because she likes to take extra long showers, and our water heater hasn't been keeping up with her demands. So today I really put my foot down, I told her "I am not overhauling the stupid water heater again and if she couldn't deal with it to hire a plumber to just replace the freakin' thing with a new BIGGER one, then get a job and be ready to PAY FOR IT when the plumbers bill arrives in the mail. Period, end of discussion." 20 minutes later I am under the house scooping lime through a 2" hole and wire brushing elements, with no recollection at all of how I ended up there. πŸ€”
