The use of fossil fuels as an energy source was never a problem........Until when? It became a problem when an imbalance occured. Too many piglets sucking on the teets, and then pooping everywhere. the answer isn't "Finding a better way to feed them". The answer is "Controlling how many are here to feed" ! Regardless of the method you develop to continue feeding a constantly growing population..... those piglets are all gonna poop, and eventually die. Whaddya gonna do with all that poop and dead bodies.....that take longer to decay than it does to produce? It is a very sad and unpleasant thought, but the very best thing that we all could do to benefit the earth and the remainder of mankind..... is to limit our number of offspring and die sooner. If we could just do THAT then all the problems the world is faced with would rectify themselves. My biggest pet peeve are these enormous families where all the kids have to do without, wear hand-me-downs, lack parental attention, and are not getting fed well because they have too many brothers and sisters. That scenario is exactly what is going on in the world now.

There are a couple of real life Eddie Haskell's right here on this forum. 😉

Lithium Batteries
fishinwrench replied to grizwilson's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Theren lies the problem. Diodes are inherently delicate, and when one fails in a lithium battery of that size you can have a nasty meltdown. Pro-lithium guys are always quick to blame these meltdowns on improper use, improper charging, and blah-blah-blah.....but the cold hard fact that I, as a marine mechanic, know for sure......is that darn few boat owners do things "PROPERLY". And that fact is highly unlikely to change. -
A lower unit that I ordered from Alabama had to go through Earth city (for some reason) ......and now I get this...
-
Everybody wants to go by the flow rate (cfs) but that's really only helpful if you're comparing it to another river. Once you are familiar with a river the guage height is what you should be checking. On the middle Gasconade you are good from .085' to 3' At 3.5' you are basically blown out.

Yet Another Golden Fish - Awesome Smallmouth
fishinwrench replied to Johnsfolly's topic in Conservation Issues
So if in 10 years they figure out that marine mechanics make better money, and they become one....... they loose all credibility and immediately know nothing about fish anymore? Gotcha. I see how it works 👍 I wore lots of different shirts before I ever started wearing the Sims Marine ones. 😉 What the hell could a lowly paint salesman know about photography? 🙄 Well, the best photographer I know just happens to be one. 🤷♂️ -
Yet Another Golden Fish - Awesome Smallmouth

What would you like to have explained? And what seperates an "armchair biologist and fisheries manager" from a REAL biologist and fisheries manager? -
Squirrels just make mistakes in judgement. To them, shooting across the road and dodging tires is like a sport. They at least TRY ! Deer are like zombies. Dumber than a box of rocks. I've tried to pound it into my kids heads that the object of the game is to MAINTAIN YOUR LANE, and if that means mowing over an animal the size of a horse.....so be it. Swerving to miss some idiot that wanders into your path is the worst reaction ever. It seldom ends well.

I only smoke in the kitchen, and that has never set off an alarm. The girls set it off with steam from their shower upstairs all the time.
-
One of my daughters friends has one, and I can't even hear her pull into the driveway with it. She busted me taking a piss next to the shop one day. 🙄 I have a feeling that deer/dog/coon collisions are going to increase dramatically if everyone starts driving those things around.

Putting in all brand new Duracell's never stops it. Hitting the TEST button shuts it up for an hour or two.....but then it will usually start chirping every 15-20 minutes again.....but only on days when it is acting up. They are supposed to detect Radon, Natural gas, and pretty much everything else deemed harmful in the state of California.....So it is probably getting a sniff of hairspray or nail polish from the girls rooms. Or possibly one of Orion's wicked farts. A close lightning strike sets them off too. That has caused me to panic and run all over the house more than once.
-
I can relate to that. Ours are hardwired into the house electrical circuit with a battery backup. Occasionally one will start intermittently chirping LOUDLY for no apparent reason.....and when one chirps then they all chirp. It's enough to make you wish that the house would burn down.

Aches, pains, and varying degrees of discomfort are a constant, and have been for a number of years. I might as well just live in the hospital waiting room. Hope you are feeling 22 again since they worked you over. 👍

It is definitely a seller's market right now. Boats are being listed for what I consider rediculous prices. Whether they are actually SELLING for that price, or not, I couldn't tell ya. I'm almost afraid to make a counter-offer for fear of insulting the seller. 🙄
-
Why is that? Effective method to eliminate the "riff-raff" I suppose, but communities need people to work at gas stations, hardware and grocery stores.

Blah! 🙄 It failed the swimming pool test. The stuff doesn't move like fur. I can't like it. 👎
-
....that they have fake fur strips, and flexible fabric glue at Hobby Lobby ? I can't wait to show this to the White bass this evening. 😎 Got any other cool ideas ?

Sad but true. 🙄

It's kinda typical for Surfers, Motocross guru's, and other adrenaline junkies to have rather short lifespans, I think. Those kinda guys don't have time to eat right or relax. Energy drinks, and other assorted "mood enhancers" are not a primary food group. Diet and lifestyle were probably more to blame than sun exposure. But I'm just spit-balling here. I had an uncle that died in his early 40's. He lived on dill pickles, potato chips, Beer and Wild Turkey. Good looking dude! Had a gaggle of smokin'hot females that loved him unconditionally. I guess you could claim that he screwed himself to death......but let's get real 🙄

How do you know? Has anyone tried? It may not "go away", but what are the odds that a person can continue to live a decent life, and function with it ? At least with some of its many forms. Everyone associates the term "cancer" with impending death.....and that may be true to a degree, but WHEN ? A 60ish year old guy only has another 10-20 years to hang in there. And cancer doesn't always kill overnight ya know. In my case, at 59, if I have some cancer (and I'm sure I do) I'd rather not know the details, and not have to dwell on it. The important thing is that I woke up this morning.....and I can function satisfactorily today. Fish, Work, play badminton, ect. I'll worry about tomorrow when it gets here. 👍 In my opinion the worst form of LIVING is doing it while running back & forth to hospitals, worrying, being depressed, and having to undergo multiple ongoing medical procedures. Piss on THAT ! That ain't living.

No, this was.... Nope, sorry, you have it all wrong. He could have lived just fine....for a good long time.....had they just left the little pea sized dark spot ALONE. But their recommendation was to immediately go in and remove it. Not "monitor it", or "keep an eye on it". No! So as soon as the pneumonia was cleared up they scheduled him for surgery......and through a course of events (following their recommendation) it killed him within 9 months. But bygod they got that little dark spot!! Hooray for them! Hero's I tell ya ! 🙄 I'm not dolng out medical advice, you ding-a-ling. 😅 I'm sharing my true personal thoughts with my true personal friends. If you don't wanna be one, that's fine. Hit the almighty ignore button and carry on. ✌️ All I know is that MY LITTLE DARK SPOTS, and I'm sure I have a few, aren't bothering me or anyone else.......So leave them alone !
-
I'll tell ya what....When you learn to converse in a normal and orderly fashion I'd be glad to carry on a conversation with you. You answer MY last question to you, and then I'll answer this here FOLLOW UP question of yours. K? ✌️

If some accredited physician had reported that the large bump in the middle of everyone's face was a cancerous tumor that was slowly consuming their brain....... we'd have a society of people with no noses. They'd remove it like tonsils, or foreskin.
-
10 years from now they'll likely discover that something in sunscreen causes skin cancer. 🙄 I know that my views and opinions on things don't go over very well on here, but there's this nagging thought that keeps popping into my head saying that.... A living being wouldn't be born into an environment in which commercial products are required for survival. Who is administering all these critical life saving chemicals to the fish and wildlife who don't have access to doctors and pharmacies? Sorry. I know it's gonna piss everyone off, but this is the way my brain works. 😅
