Secchi disk readings are doubled. Light has to travel to the disc....and then back to your eyeball. Therefore a disc reading of 4' indicates that light travels 8' through the cloudiness of the water. A fish 8' deep can still not be in total darkness, and can potentially perceive color. I thought you were supposed to be smart..... or something. Were there not any qualifications for this high-falutin' moderator job you signed up for? 🤔

I'm trying everything I can think of, or find out about. What the heck can a person do (short of cosmetic surgery) about a wound that refuses to completely heal? Is that the 23 5/8" 7 pounder ? A 24" LM is gonna be pushing 7# but not sure how they compare length-to- weight. I assumed that LM averaged heavier. I've never actually weighed a Smallie.

Messing with gar is a short lived obsession. I think everyone goes through it for awhile, until they have some success.......then they are done with it for life. That's me. A dude up the road here got a car similar to a Civic that he zipped around in what sounded like 1st gear all the time. It lived less than a week.

It's on YT, Oklahoma F&W in partnership with Ken ????? (forget his last name) but he used to work for the Pierce family at Basscat boats. They were still in the process of doing a "Tournament released bass" tracking study the last I knew. I had it all saved to favorites but then had to switch phones and lost it. It's a lengthy series of videos. Basically, 70+% of 3lb.+ bass released after weigh-in were discovered dead within 2 weeks, even during cool temperature months. Smaller 2 pounders seemed to fair better. (Ya know, the ones not paraded around and hoisted up for photo shoots) 🙄

When I was a kid, my mom and one of her drunken friends made a batch of dandelion wine, and they used us kids as guinea pigs. Good Lord, that stuff was aweful ! 🥴 Times have certainly changed. Parents would go straight to jail for some crap like that now !
