  1. She's coming along nicely..... finally. Covid, and being the only wrench turner here has definitely bogged things down....but I'm steady at it. Thanks for your patience πŸ€—
  2. Everybody left at one time or another. A few got taken away to prison. Most returned after failing once, regrouped and either left AGAIN, or stayed and became stagnant. A couple of them left and got killed 😟 Only one of my old friends is still married to his highschool sweetheart. Neither of them ever went to college, and they now own a successful swimming pool company in the STL area.
  3. Hiring on ANYWHERE is a gamble. I paid my hometown a visit awhile back, made the rounds checking in with almost a dozen old friends. Some attended college, some went into the service, a few were musicians and have spent 30 years pledging allegiance to sex-drugs-rock&roll, and ONE quit school his junior year and opened up a tire shop when he was 26. Guess which one is living a good life now?
  4. I forgot what we tried, something we saw online 5-6 years ago.....but it didn't work. At first we thought it was the plants inside the window, so moved them.....but that wasn't it. I'm not a big bird lover so to be totally honest.....piss on'em. Let them bash their heads. It's usually Cardinals, of which there are thousands around here, and they probably need thinning out some anyway.
  5. Yeah, the lunchroom is awesome, and the pond out back has some nice Florida bass in it. They are suckers for a lime-green buzzbait. You haven't realized how much you appreciate life until you stand right next to a V6 outboard running 6200rpm on a Dyno.
  6. So you're telling me that nobody knew anything about any of those topics before the first college was built?
  7. I'll give you another heads-up on a rod/reel company that continues to blow MY mind. Piscifun. Unbelievably good stuff for the price.
  8. Depending on your chosen career there's often no need to "get a job". Take a trip to Jeff City, apply for a business license and tax number, and Poof..... suddenly you're "employed"......for as long as you don't screw it up. I have a bunch of certificates on the wall......For what? I don't know, because they don't mean squat.
  9. I have a pair of thermal pane windows on the east side of our living room. The double glass creates a mirror when the sun comes up, and nearly every single morning there are 2 or 3 THUMPs. And at least once or twice every month I'll have to go out and kick a dead bird off the porch. This has been going on for so long that the neighbors cat makes a pass through the yard every day around 10:30 to see if today was the day.
  10. Why did Joe Biden cross the road? His pecker was in the chicken.
  11. Can someone give me an example of something that you can learn in college that you can't learn on your own?
  12. Back in the '80's and into the 90's the BPS branded stuff was pretty darn good. Then somewhere along the line that changed. BPS branded jigheads now look like something that 2nd graders have put together and painted, worm weights have slag hanging off of them and you may or may not be able to thread a line through the hole of them. Rods of the same model with irregularly spaced guides..and crap like that. Honestly you can't even find stuff with quality that disgustingly poor at Walmart. Cabela's branded stuff was always top notch, but it probably isn't anymore.
  13. Hey πŸ‘‹. Looking good, man! πŸ‘
  14. What mount do you need? I have a whole pile of blown TM's in the boneyard. Maybe I can hook you up. Do you just need a lightweight mount with a shaft?
  15. Not period. Cut bait is great wherever the turtles are not. Trying to fish cut bait in areas where turtles are hanging out is a waste of time.
  16. SheezeπŸ™„ All of this compliance is nauseating.
  17. No, that's why I'm actually not there. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to be. Teleportation would be sweet.
  18. I haven't been "store shopping" in a long time. Don't miss it one bit either.
  19. It's hard to beat a good dip bait for numbers of eating size channel cat. But not for blues or flatheads. I'd say the #1 for blues is live or cut shad, or a live goldfish. #1 for flatheads is a live goldfish, or a 5-6" live bluegill or green sunfish.
  20. Very! Man, what I'd give to be standing there right now. πŸ€—
  21. Everybody Hates Walmart, but those *Ozark Trail* coolers and thermos's are darn good stuff. You can't beat the value of that stuff anywhere. Honestly, everything marked "Ozark Trail" is truly good stuff for the price.
  22. I can one-up that. I don't like tailwaters......So there! πŸ˜›
  23. Good luck, but finding factory switch panels for boats older than 6-7 years old is hard (impossible?) I don't even try. Here at Sims Marine I fabricate them from the heavy nylon cutting boards in the cooking aisle at department stores. After you have it cut to shape and the holes drilled, you can paint it or cover it with woodgrain vinyl if you want. Seems to be the best material for the job. It's what the manufacturer SHOULD have used.
  24. You open a beer and it's gone in 1 minute and 45 seconds. So yeah a koozie is pointless for you. Yeti or otherwise. πŸ˜‚
