  1. Yep, it's a 350 Chevy with Marine cam and exhaust risers. Single screw Volvo outdrive is very similar to the old OMC Cobra outdrive. Tilt system is wonky and the Marina's that work on them make a killing off that tilt/trim system. The engines are a breeze to winterize and service. Very reliable overall. Replacing the driveshaft bellows is a huge PIA..... you'll not wanna tackle that one on your own. It will need that service about every 4-5 years.
  2. And then.....
  3. Stockers with torn-up tails just aren't pic worthy..... But here's a few shots from our outing.
  4. The kids swam, and I wet waded Tues-Wed. It wasn't exactly pleasant. Sure slept good those 2 nights though. And the lack of bugs sure made it pleasant.
  5. I hear there's a family of them around Eldridge. 2 grown ones and 2 Cubs. Nothing mentioned about collars.
  6. I'd love to have a short shaft version of the same motor. I'd throw that sucker on a 1442 and keep it forever.
  7. There's always a surprise cold snap in August. Y'all never kept journals, did ya? Happens every year, don't think it's ever missed one. Trust me, you'll be wiping sweat off your shotgun on the opening day of dove season.
  8. Hope you're enjoying what I hung up for y'all tonight. 😊
  9. I'm surprised that the stripers are up that far now. Cool beans!
  10. Livewell circuits are typically tan w/ black stripe. If you're at all uneasy about tackling it yourself, there are guys that do it for a living, and they have bills to pay.
  11. If the light comes on then you have power to the switch. Odds are that the pump is bad, but there is either a fuse or a breaker between the switch and the pump. Sounds like you've already replaced it. Pull the pump !
  12. Yep. Yamaha, Suzuki, and Tohatsu made all of the 4-stroke outboards. Regardless of what the cowling said. And still do, I believe.
  13. They absolutely do, or did. I haven't noticed it as much in the last several years, but for quite a while you couldn't find a fish with all of its fins still intact.
  14. I think I do. It was a looong time ago wasn't it?? Yeah, it's been a few years I think. I think the argument was probably specific to the Niangua. I really don't trout fish enough anywhere else to claim to know anything. The Niangua and NFOW has been pretty much it for me for the last 8-10 years, as far as trout water.
  15. All they gotta do is take that face lickin' dog of yours to the location of your truck. You'll be found within 15 minutes.
  16. I went on a rant once about biologists clipping fins, and somebody, supposedly connected with MDC in some way, got on here and ripped into me big-time, claiming that nobody from MDC ever clipped fishes fins off. Does anyone, by chance, remember that?
  17. I know, right ! Yet so many absolutely cannot tolerate me. I just don't understand it. 😅
  18. I'm actually surprised that more guys don't have them. Boat covers are a PIA, and if an enclosed air conditioned trailer is not too much for a stupid horse then it shouldn't be a rarity for a bass boat. Besides, look at all that extra real estate for sponsor bling!
  19. Back in 1886, how would you order such a piece, and have it delivered? I find that more interesting than how it was made. 😅
  20. I know of a couple. One is a double decker that hauls 2 boats. You should have stuck around to watch him launch..... cuz if he didn't collapse those power poles before launching then he might have tore some stuff up.
  21. There is a sticker under the cowling that tells you the correct plug and its appropriate gap. 2-stroke 90 is NGK BR8HS-10 gap=.040 4-stroke 90 is NGK LFR5A-11 gap=.044
  22. Remove the 6 screws holding the flange down, clean up both surfaces and put a bead of clear RTV around the flange and screw it back down. The O-ring on the cap....if it is damaged replace it. If it isn't damaged then just smear a light coating of grease on it. Or just replace the whole assembly.....they run 9.00-14.00
  23. Um, no it isn't. Permatex aviation form-a-gasket is for sealing machined metal to metal components like crankcases, or for using as a gasket sealer, or as a light thread locker to prevent bolts from vibrating loose. Your leak is probably coming from the flange, and not from the screw in cap. But either way some RTV sealant will stop the leak. You don't want form-a-gasket on that thing..... it's sticky messy crap that even the best of hand cleaners won't wash off. And it will lock those plastic threads up tighter than a pelicans @$$
