Awe, it's time for *drawrings" with Simon Milliken 🙄 All of this open public discussion of the BUSINESS of fishing.....is what's going to damage the sport more than anything else IMO.

Not too techy. Hope this works.

Thanks 😊 What's really cool is that she can be jacking-up all over the place and have everyone else threatening to throttle her....and she totally ignores them. Yet all I have to do is calmly say "D, tighten it up booger".....and magically there's an instant reset 👍 Like a puppet on a string 😊 -
The kids are setting up the Christmas tree and the dogs are intent on getting under it....MIGHT BE A FRIGGIN WOODCOCK UNDER THERE ! 😳 I ain't messin'round !
-
💯 👍 Do as I say, not as I do ! Woke up at 6:am to pee and blow the snot out of my nose. Popped my right ear, and now I can't even walk a straight line. It appears that realizing you're too old for that crap is worse than being amateurish.....since all of THEM are hopping around unhampered by it all. 🥴

Yeah, what the heck !?!?! Where did these suckers come from all of a sudden? I feel cheated. 🫤 My hardass ol'man used to practically kick the lungs out of his dog for acting birdy over a fieldmouse. Makes me wonder what he would have done if the dog had locked up on a woodcock 🤔

Woke up to that bright & early Thanksgiving morning. Started my day out wonderfully 👍 We Love you guys. 🤗 -
And rebounded completely within 4-5 years, with some reaching 18-22" ? Ok 🙄 If they could have made it through that long hot/dry spell then there'd be wild trout galore in every spring fed stream in the Ozarks TODAY. I remember that period well because I was working outside in it every single day, and living in a trailer with no A/C. It was like hell on earth.....No green grass anywhere, cracks in the soil big enough to lose tools and your truck keys in, ect. And when it finally DID RAIN it came down as MUD because of all the dust in the atmosphere. You couldn't drive in the "rain" because your wipers were just smearing mud. Honestly I still have scars from sun damage and dehydration acquired during that period.

We're all cluckin' & puttin' at Sims Marine tonight. I'm the last one standing, and it's a good thing cuz there's still food out on the counter and two yellow labs are eyeballing it ! The rest of my bunch are pathetic amateur's 🙄

Yep👍 There's a reason why Gravois Mills has no high level tycoon's anymore. Those with many "holdings or assets" on record became targets for weird suits and seizures. "Eagle nests" prevent expansions, and things like that. While those who appear (on the books) to barely have a pot to piss in....or a window to throw it out of....are left alone to live in peace, and Fire trucks, Sheriff's deputys, and ambulances actually show up immediately when called. If Coconuts didn't have 5 separate "owners" an independent owner would have to retain a team of 7 lawyers to fight in court weekly, to avoid property seizure. They'd just keep trumping-up lists of some BS violations & infractions and bleed him dry until the deed holder goes broke and finally surrenders. This is the world we live in. 🤷♂️ CYA, or live with a hornswoggle target on your back.......OR drive a '76 Pinto with expired plates and live peacefully in a van down by the river.

Why she thought it beneficial to finance something that I had already paid for.....and was going to end up being hers eventually.....I still don't understand. But what's really cool is that when something needs fixed I can throw a fit and demand that she pays to have it fixed 😅 Not that it ever works out that way 🙄

Most recently? Meramec Spring, to allegedly control some parasite deemed detrimental to the stocked Rainbows. Troutdale started raising them strictly for the purpose of selling to restaurants. They still are raising them..... but sales are down to the point that it's hardly worth it. They continue only for the purpose of loyalty......cuz that's the way us Gravois folks roll. 😉 In the 70's-80's there was a rich dude in the very backend of Alcorn Hollow (Camden county) that reared Brookies and peppered them into little springs around the area just for kicks. Burnt mill spring on the Little Niangua river, Mimosa spring in Bollinger cr., and HaHaTonka to name a few. A wicked drought in the early 90's pretty much wiped them out I think, but they were sustaining themselves pretty good until then. That same drought was when I realized the famous Crane creek tale was a crock of BS.

I forget what the Mo. Brook trout record was, but Cricket topped it while on a white bass trip with me here on Gravois creek. It was an escapee from Troutdale ranch, and pics were shared here.....Lord knows where they are now. That was quite a few years ago. 😅

I know there's plenty of AR neophytes around here to make any animal extinct.

This whole thing about not shooting them because they want to trap 10 at a time would be ok if they actually were truly and repeatedly successful at it. Otherwise, if you kill every one that you see, then it won't be long until you don't see them anymore......and isn't THAT the goal ?

Hell, mine actually bought my house and business property from me, and now I have to pay RENT to her. It was some kind of shrewd business move brainstorm that I quit trying to understand, so I just go along with it. 🤔 "Just shut up, sign the papers, and fix the boats, Dad!". 🙄
-
Oh I'm sure! Billethead in another language means Longduckdong.....or something to that effect. Hell, any man that can get his wife to sleep with him outside on the porch in January......is obviously a freakin' STUD !!!!

And we know that YOU like it LARGE ! hotdog/hallway 🙄

I'm sorry but TH is a clown. A so-so fisherman and a lousy writer. If you wanna learn Smallmouth Flyfishing then a day or two with http://ozarksweetwater.com/ or https://osaguidesoutfitters.com/ will save you years of frustration and milage.
-
There is something wrong with you. 🙄 I quit gear fishing for river Smallies like 20 years ago. Just so much more fun, and challenging, on fly gear.

I've done a lot of bird hunting in Mo. Tn. & Ga. in the past. Never once got a shot at a woodcock 🤷♂️ Probably wouldn't have recognized one if one had ever got up. I did however have a conversation with one in an outhouse while I was pooping. I thought it was a whippoorwill 😂 Because I had never actually seen one of those either, at the time. He likely took offense at some idiot with his pants down calling him "Mr.Whipporwill". 🙄

What jig makers are trying to make their jigs LIGHTER? The trend seems to be heavier if anything. -
Totally unrelated here, but see that cell phone in his pocket? I had to quit carrying mine like that, because it was causing muscle tingling, numbness, and a noticable loss of strength in my right leg. I thought it was BS at first....but I switched sides and within several days I started noticing it in that leg. I'm totally convinced now! These devices we are all in love with are not 100% harmless. Radiation or whatever it might be, but it's a real thing. I don't even put mine next to my head when answering calls. I use the speakerphone.

So you want the same mass with less weight? Lead free solder ?
