  1. Anybody know the ramp situation, i usually put in around Scotty's. Drove by there last week and i saw it was closed. not to picky on where i put in also wondering about Rockaway.
  2. How is the drive up to the dam from fall creek after the flood? Anything new to watch for? And is staying in the middle a pretty safe bet
  3. Ham 25 high is better than 40 i guess! My glass is obviously half full
  4. Im with you on that TEN. I used to troll with a 60 4 stroke and then i got a Motorguide Xi5 last year, i personally think i get more bites, might be that since i dont have to drive with the steering wheel i can get an extra rod out now. But it definitely isnt necessary for success, just a tool to make things a little easier
  5. I havent had any problems with my BB1
  6. I got a couple of those 2 or 3 years ago and they just wont break i still use them every time im out. I have got some nicer ones since but i cant say one bad word about the cheaper ones though. In fact i was about to throw the towell in on baitcasters until these. I was always buying some crumbing BPS combo and would rat nest like crazy. Got a cheap lews and now i own one shimano spinner and about 10 Lews spinners and baitcasters.
  7. Well took the batteries back to Orielly so they could load test them and of course they still tested good. I told them i would rather throw them in the dumpster than waste another day going back to the lake. The guy understood and gave me a couple new ones, Im pretty happy with how they handles the deal. The batteries were even one month out of warranty and they still threw me a bone... Gotta give some props to Orielly for some good customer service Curtlow, I appreciate the thoughts and I wish it would have been somthing that simple but these batteries worked so good after i got them last year. So i was pretty confident in my wiring, i did some internet searching on how to make them work. Kinda is confusing if your not a electric gooroo
  8. I havent broke any off but im definitely not letting them get down that deep The Ramp is usable the courtesy dock is completely under water though
  9. Man that smallie has a fighting tail on him
  10. Quill, Im hoping for the best on the Batteries but i know last year when i bought those, the high was in the upper 20's and we could troll 7 hours on a charge. Problem is if they pro rate them i dont think i really want to replace them with the same type. This is my third trip to the lake after different methods of charging that they have failed. I want to fish not fiddle with problems...Part of owning a boat i guess
  11. Ham, that picture is actually the Zebra muscle line(all dead), They are pretty thick up there. Like billions upon billions. So it isnt how the water is fluctuating as of recently. I didnt really notice until you pointed it out, the picture really makes it looked more defined than in person
  12. Started at daylight water temp 50. Tried my normal winter trolling pattern around Beaver Launch ramp with no luck at all. I Marked all kinds of stuff but it was very weird and im not sure it was fish or shad or what, seems like the graphs are playing tricks up there. Trolled some cranks for an hour or so and didnt have a bite. Took off down towards K dock and the fog got very thick around the first bend so i went to an idle. After getting to K dock i threw some flicker shads out behind the boat about 200' and started catching some decent Spots, nothing real big. Trolled another hour or so and picked up a couple more Spots and a couple 11" crappie. Trolling batteries died and I was done. Not sure whats going on. My batteries test "good" at oriellys but were dead. I thought it was my on board charger last week when this happened so i charged them on a normal charger and the same thing happened. So oriellys said to charge them again and then bring them in so they can test it under load. Only a year old so hopefully somthing good will come out of it Good luck out there
  13. I didnt actually go up Beaver Creek i headed down lake towards K dock, i did troll around Beaver Boat dock for a while and i did hear several shots. I was wondering what people were shooting that early, now it makes sense. I saw a lot of geese in some fields but no ducks
  14. I Put in at Beaver Creek today i assume that is the creek you are referring to. I didnt run up it but from past experience (If im thinking of the field you are thinking of) i doubt it is under water, if i recall there is a fairly tall bank there. The water is definitely high, im guessing 6-8 feet judging by the courtesy dock being underwater. Last spring when i was down there before the big flood it wasnt quite as high as it is now hope this helps a little \
  15. Its a lot different than the rock. Not a ton of visible cover, I dont Bass fish it a whole lot but I dive a lot around Diamond City which has a few decent little resorts that are a good price. Ive seen so many monster bass in there it would make you sick. My brother made the comment yesterday after we caught a few 12 inch crappie " These things must be born keeper"
  16. Im not to worried about it. Table Rock is full of power poles and glittery boats, All you gotta do is tell them the Zebra muscles will stick to there boat. That will scare them away.
  17. Went to table rock last week, waste of time. Blows my mind that people write off Bull. 10X the fishery as the Rock. I love it.
  18. Well this trip had some highs and lows. Started at 8 am caught a few crappie on our first stop. I just repowered my boat so i took off and my hat and sunglasses blew off, then my gloves blew out, not used to the new motor, The old 60 4 stroke was a dog compared to a 75 opti. Then of course my batteries went dead on my remote for the troller. So i ran to Theodosha and got batteries. Got back out and boated a few more crappe all between 11-13 inches. Gave our brush a break and tried trolling flicker shads. Caught a couple bass and another nice crappie. Water temp 57. Then my New last year trolling batteries went dead. so we were pretty much done. Went by oriellys and they tested my batteries and they both were dead but good. Im thinking my onboard charger isnt working right
  19. New Christmas list: Jock Strap PFD
  20. http://www.fishusa.com/product/Quantum-QX36-Spinning-Rods This is my favorite spinning set up. I use it for Whites, crappie and trout. Cheap enough that your not out much if it breaks but it works so well for everything. I got a few laying around just for spares. Casts a 1/16 oz jig well and also can throw a #7 countdown without a problem. A couple buddies even bought a few after using mine. And its hard to find a cork handle for under $30.
  21. 90% of mine are blacks
