  1. That's precisely the cause. The minimalist grips cause you to squeeze all day. With a fat handle, I just sort of let the rod hang there, just enough pressure to keep it in hand.
  2. Not RA, but carpal tunnel gives me fits. That's why I build fat Tennessee handles on my spin rods. I also use Wilson tennis racket grip wrap/tape from Walmart or Academy, secured fore and rear with a couple wraps of electrical tape. It's cushioned, "grippy", and adds diameter. Also about $5, so not a big loss if you don't like it. Have used it on customs, couple of factory Loomis handles, and even a baitcaster or two.
  3. More or less like soft scaled aquarium fish in that way.
  4. It raises a ruckus. Obviously just a big fancy Crazy Crawler. Definite metallic sound. That's it next to a full size spook, for scale. Going through the air it sounds like you added buzz blades to an A-rig. And it's super stabby.
  5. Throw the one on the right next time you fish with him. Not at him. Just anywhere. It's a memorable experience when it's in the air. Well worth $20 just to see the look.
  6. Always thought it was shock from sudden temp or O2 changes. Usually cold, but not necessarily.
  7. Or a lock and lock food storage box. The Tupperware type thing with latches on the lid. Good for hard swimbaits too. Wives will know what they are. Plano makes a 3600 that is just one open compartment. Trying it this year for blades in the little boat, and buzzbaits in the Ranger.
  8. Yikes. I thought basketball showed a little something down the stretch. At least signs of life. And your football hire was solid this time.
  9. Thanks brother. Generally, we are. Get through this week and I should be free to post some updates.
  10. Dang, I miss having breakfast with Bill Richey at Ma's. Taught me a ton about the old puddle.
  11. Meeting made at least one Kansas City TV station this morning. Didn't see anyone throwing things, so that's a plus.
  12. Tell me about it. Have three. One runs currently.
  13. It never really stops.
  14. Y'all do your best to bust the band on your sweatpants today. Safe travels if you're out and about.
  15. https://www.tulsaworld.com/sports/beast-of-a-fish-broken-bow-angler-lands--pound/article_23e1e6f2-4842-5760-9bc0-7aeadbc09b51.html May or may not know who made the jig 😉
  16. Full clown show. Never go full clown show.
  17. When my kids were younger, we ran a lot of 20# and 30# braid on a variety of spincast reels. Power Pro and Daiwa J braid mostly. Works great, but I don't know about dropping down smaller than that. Needs some diameter to function. Also keep it soaking (as in dripping) in reel magic or another line conditioner. They mostly threw topwater and plastics with an FC leader. Braid is fantastic on redfins and other wake baits. Once in a while I've thrown some of the lighter wake baits on those set ups. Fat girls and Hondas, lol.
  18. Yankee. 😉
  19. Good on you for passing on the craft.
  20. 10# invizx on docks, 15# on most everything else, 20-25# mono for flipping bushes or junk in high water.
  21. Maybe you should stop going in April. This seems familiar (2017).
  22. Yep. That pillar is a problem. One guy (who actually knows stuff 😉) said we might be able to build out and just hang a long single door. Tear out the decorative bits. But we don't have the offset issue. Just the two doors.
  23. Had similar thoughts, but hadn't gone as far as bids.
