  1. Pheasants come to mind. Chukar and grouse are ground nesters. Grouse do roost in trees. Chukar do not.

Parts of it. They rolled the Vikings in a serious way.
  4. Cool story bro. Congratulations to Kiersten and her dad.

    Chiefs

And what I saw last night did nothing to change my mind. The Chargers are a good team with a good big young quarterback, playing at home and still the Chiefs got it done. They sure are fun to watch!
  6. Who knew we had the last of the good old days. When I was a kid, this time of the year fried quail, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans and some kind of pie for dessert was nothing out of the ordinary - but still special - Sunday dinner. My uncle had a '59 Dodge with those huge fins that he put vents into the trunk for the bird dogs. We would go with him and his cousin and walk for what seemed like forever. But somehow we always made it home for dinner. Those days now seem so far away and gone forever, almost like they never happened. But they did.
  7. When I target blues on Truman this time of year, it's in a cove with the wind blowing in. 20' deep water with bait at 6' and 12' fishing with the noodles for float and a red solo cup full of concrete with a wire loop on top for an anchor. Maybe 1/2 to 3/4 oz weight on the dropper to put the bait in the zone. It works. Now and then you can find wipers or whites on the bank in that same cove. Windier and nastier the weather the better.
  8. I hope Bull Shoals gets it done before jigfest. Seems highly possible.
  9. You can but back when there was a lot of multiflora where we hunted, it was an old reliable. Cover and bare dirt under the multiflora is a winning combination.
  10. How do you feel about 12 feet wide multiflora fence rows?

    Chiefs

They sure did. If you need to lay an egg, early season is a good time. Right now today, Friday 11/18/22 @ 12:35 PM, I think they are the best team in the league.

    Packers

I was surprised but shouldn't have been when Rodgers turned out to be such a sleaze.
  13. Wild asparagus in a fence line stands out like a sore thumb right now. I take a weedeater to my patch in March. Whip it to bare ground to give the asparagus a fair chance to outrun the weeds.
  14. Good cool story from the guy who caught it. Sounds like not a fluke deal for him.
  15. Guess what - I fished everywhere I wanted with a 1648 jon with a 9.9 Evinrude. Very little dragging - but honestly some. I wasn't quite poor at the time, but not what you would call flush. Had a lot of fun on that river in that boat.
  16. That's a lot of sausage eaters.🎯
  17. That was back when Heck was a pup. I lived in St. Charles for a few years and fished that river a little bit. It's still a heck of a fishery but still.... different now.
  18. FB Marketplace is somewhere to look for that sort of thing.
  19. So a gallon or so of chili, 30 hotdogs and buns, couple of pounds of shredded cheese, a big onion, two jars of jalapenos, a bottle of ketchup and a bottle of mustard sounds about right for Thursday, right?

    Prepping

When I was more or less serious about gardening, I liked to have it plowed deep in the fall to get everything turned over. Tilled early and then again when time to plant.
  21. With names like Cardiac Hill and Suicide Hill is it any wonder I've never been to either and don't feel bad about it?
  22. That's a lot of sausage.🎯
  23. I've lost track. How many of us are there anyway?
  24. Done. Sorry I missed the first one.
  25. I'll bring chili, hot dogs, buns and fixins for chili dogs Thursday night. Eggs, hashbrowns, deer and elk backstraps for a breakfast one day, either Friday or Saturday. How many are going to be there to eat?
